new Garmin Connect: some bugs, slow performance, some missing features

Hi,

could not find a place where I can post a feedback to the new Garmin Connect. - not sure, if you want any bug reports posted here (?)

issue: Segments
a great improvement! (Hope it will work soon. I marked a segment, noticed that 6 activities matched this but so far can not see any of these in comparison. Some guys posted a not this takes 24hrs to show up)

issue: general application site performance
site response time is slower than with the old app - which was not good at all. Hope you can figure out some performance improvements.

issue: Compare Button
does not work. activities do show a compare button (blue) but as a result the compare view shows no data. Button should be removed here

issue: Compare Acitivty
when selecting two activities do compare, the result site does not show comparison data.

my personal wish-list (enhancement feature requests)
I would like to connect to WITHINGS weight data.
I would like to have some more statistics from my runs (e.g. pace of the best lap/1km/5km segment of my last run)
  • Writing this on an iPad and the zoom appears to be fine.

Was rather hoping there would be the ability to see time spent in HR zones though with this latest update.

To be strictly accurate, it depends whether energy is being measured in big or little calories. The dietary calorie is usually the bigger one and the abbreviation is Cal or sometimes kcal.

Good point, I wasn't aware of those!
    Actually it seems that there are several notations possible: 1 C = 1 Cal = 1 kcal = 1000 cal (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calorie).
I wonder which of those Garmin unit are measuring/calculating?

What's holding me back from the "modern" version of Garmin Connect is the VO2 Max graph lost functionality to see your trending. Yes, the new version has trending but it smooths all data points. See pictures of old version - precise vs. new version - smooth.

    Bug report:

    - Swimming distance in meters are added as km in the Total distance report widget.
    - Cannot see temperature data on outdoor swimming activity
    - Swimming GPS data is non-sense (900 m instead of 500m)
  • My wish list for the new "Modern" display:
    - make the bottom edge of the map that shows the GPS track draggable so the map can be resized to something more like a square. The "new bigger map" is only useful if your ride is east-west.
    - allow OpenCycleMap as one of the map backgrounds. This has a lot more off-road trails than the OpenStreetMap/MapQuest option, which seems to suppress a lot of the detail contained in the OpenStreetMap database.

Any updates coming on the VO2 Max graphs in the modern view? See the attached pictures of the usable VO2 Max graph in the Classic view () versus the new unusable Modern view ().

    +1

Along the same lines, if you view a course, or are trying to create a course, the map only expands so far vertically on a large monitor. I have a 30" monitor, and there is a lot of white space under the map. The map portion is about 3 to 4 times as wide as it is tall...disappointed.
