new Garmin Connect: some bugs, slow performance, some missing features

Hi,

could not find a place where I can post a feedback to the new Garmin Connect. - not sure, if you want any bug reports posted here (?)

issue: Segments
a great improvement! (Hope it will work soon. I marked a segment, noticed that 6 activities matched this but so far can not see any of these in comparison. Some guys posted a not this takes 24hrs to show up)

issue: general application site performance
site response time is slower than with the old app - which was not good at all. Hope you can figure out some performance improvements.

issue: Compare Button
does not work. activities do show a compare button (blue) but as a result the compare view shows no data. Button should be removed here

issue: Compare Acitivty
when selecting two activities do compare, the result site does not show comparison data.

my personal wish-list (enhancement feature requests)
I would like to connect to WITHINGS weight data.
I would like to have some more statistics from my runs (e.g. pace of the best lap/1km/5km segment of my last run)

I'm just here to second this:

    issue: general application site performance
site response time is slower than with the old app - which was not good at all. Hope you can figure out some performance improvements.
  • I also found it slow.

It looked like the coloured blobs representing activities on the calendar should be clickable, but they aren't (until you maximise the calendar).

The "Timing" (i.e. min/mile) pace chart is still pretty useless because it autoscales including a few seconds of near-stationary time at the start of a run, so 99% of the run has no pace detail at all. This is the one thing I hoped would be made better.

That's all I've looked at so far.

Some feedback on the new Garmin Connect Site - if you all don't see this or can help me great - hope they monitor this (I emailed support too):
    1. When using the new dashboard I do not see the feature to add a widget to the dashboard; or to add them to a new dashboard.
    2. Multiple Reporting Widgets - building on the first item, it would be nice to have multiple reporting widgets - to show VO2 and Total Activity Time for example.
    3. When I imported from my fēnix2 and went to use quick edit to edit the activity, the changes did not stick for the name of the activity. I had to go to full edit to change the name
    4. I’m able to update my weight but not over time and there is no edit feature on the body fat and other metrics items. I don’t see the point of this - its not useful. Please allow for entry of other metrics.
    5. Personal records view is less useful and simple - I like the old view, it would be nice to see an option for an expanded view here too on the dash.

I have just changed to the new version. I can't seem to find a quick and easy button to upload data from my forerunner 110. Can anyone help?

I don't know why the upload feature has been removed from the modern version of Connect, or why a manual upload feature can't be included with Express for that matter???

What will I do when activities on my 910 don't automatically upload to Connect? This has happened a good few times already and the only way I can get them off my 910 and onto Connect is by manually uploading them using the 'upload' option. If the option to manually upload files is taken away from Connect is will make things very difficult as if it doesn't upload a workout automatically it blocks all future workouts from being uploaded.

Also there are occasions where I will use a different device and upload the .gpx file to Connect to keep all my workouts in one place. Removing the manual upload takes this option away from me.

All in all I think removing the manual upload feature from the modern version of Connect is a big mistake and one that should be rectified immediately.
  • 1. When using the new dashboard I do not see the feature to add a widget to the dashboard; or to add them to a new dashboard.

Click the dashboard you wish to add the widget to. Click the three horizontal bars icon on the left. Mouse over the > symbol to the right of the name of the widget you'd like to add. Click the Add to Dashboard button to add the widget to the current dashboard.

    2. Multiple Reporting Widgets - building on the first item, it would be nice to have multiple reporting widgets - to show VO2 and Total Activity Time for example.

Just follow the directions above to add a second reporting widget. Modify the second widget to show the additional report data.

I don't see a way to add an activity to the activity page manually. For instance, my Edge 500 did not record a recent ride, but I still would like to add the activity so it shows in my total mileage.

I can't send courses that I've created to my Fenix 2 from the new dashboard. When I click send to device it only has my 610 in the list and doesn't find my Fenix 2. I know my Fenix 2 is connected ok as it says so in Garmin Express. Reverted back to the old version of Connect and upload course worked fine. Please fix this Garmin before you remove the old Connect as the main reason for me buying Fenix 2 was for navigation!

Go to the calendar. Click on the day you want to create the new activity, then click Manual Activity. If you have an activity widget on your dashboard, you can click the + symbol near the top-right corner of the widget to do the same.

I have added a manual activity but it won't let me add in my average speed even though it is a field on the manual activity screen.. I was riding with a friend and he told me the distance, time and average speed. Why show the field if you cannot enter it? What am I missing.
    thank you
