I've done it by writing a support request to Garmin Connect. Listing the segment link and the activity link. They have to manually fix each one separately on their end. It's a big joke.
Motorcyclists using Garmin Edges to track their rides are making segment leaders data a farce! It must be possible for other users to flag such rides or perhaps Garmin could automatically ignore "activities" that are hundreds of miles long at average speeds in excess of 50mph.
+1 for this request, rshepard1 is a big D-bag -- 57 mile ride @32 MPH avg. 51 MPH up a 3% grade... I don't think so.
So in typical Stupid Garmin Fashion --it has been over a year since first request, still no such feature. The features they do add only work half ass (like segments on the Edge 510). How difficult is it to check your code when you are done writing it? Doesn't anyone at Garmin actually freaking ride????? My issue with 510 segments (and I will find the right place to post his in just a bit) is 4 out of 5 times I ride a segment, I get half way or more done and then it says I am off segment and there is no going back, No I am not damn it! Strava doesn't boot me from 4/5ths of my segments, their software understands GPS is not within 6 inches.
+1 on flagging activities. Motorcyclists & cars are taking the leader positions on cycle and running segments. Without some kind of control mechanism the segment leader board is useless...
Me too, on all my segment the winner run them at 2.5min/km ... And if you look at the winner workout you see 70km.. Obviously it was not done while running!
Just found a running segment I use to be #1 in affected by this today. Leader was averaging 3min/mi for 27miles. Clearly a bike ride. Surely it can't be that hard to implement a filter that weeds out activities averaging unreasonable pace/speed.
