Ability to FLAG a segment if someone has driven it in their car in Garmin connect

In the Leaderboards would be good to be able to Flag someone's activity if its pretty obvious they had just left their GPS on while in their car,

Similar to how Strava does it.
  • Or when a running segment has a leader that has obviously done it on a bike. The whole feature is pretty much useless for runners as it is now, as the top of every segment I create appears to consist of "runners" hitting the segment during a 3 hour 70k(!) "run"

I'm stunned that there is no way to flag/remove a person from the leaderboards that obviously drove a bike segment.
  • No many people are making their rides public so I've not come across this issue in Connect yet. In Strava though this is a huge issue so I can't believe this feature has not been added to Connect as people will abuse any system.
  • Plus 1 for this request. Seems like a requirement

I noticed that I didn't turn off my Garmin after a ride and got a false KOM while driving. How can I remove myself from the segment?
  • I think you have a few options. None of them are very good. One would be to edit the activity data (either the original .fit file or a downloaded tcx), delete the activity in Garmin Connect, and then upload the fixed activity. Another would be to make the activity private, or to just change the activity type to something other than running/cycling.

    hi MHorn,

If you can attach the .fit file in a reply to this post and let me know how long, time wise, your ride was, then using the Fit File Repair Tool I will be able to delete the offending portion of the data values.
Then as Travis suggested, you can then delete the original 'bad' activity in Garmin Connect and then upload the new 'good' activity.

    cheers
    Mike
  • Bump. Please implement this feature. Without this, the segments feature is not usable at all. My bike segments are filled with people who were driving in a car, and run segments are crowded by cycling activities.
