This activity did not cross any segments...

Yes it did! How do I report this to Garmin for them to investigate please?
  • Can you guys post a link to your activity and a link to the segment? They should update pretty quickly after uploading the activity.

This segment has been created for a while now and still nobody has ridden it, although I did here:

The activity crosses the segment, but no leaderboard has been created.

I am seeing strange behaviour with segments. I have created a segment, from a run that I did myself. The leaderboard, when set to "Everyone", shows a list of 6 people who have done the segment, with their times, etc, but does not show me. However, when I select "Me Only" from the list filter box my run is shown, and with a timing that would place me 3rd in the leaderboard.

Your activity needs to be public to appear on the 'Everyone' leaderboard
  • Same issue here. I have some runs ranging in age from a few months ago to a year or more that cover a segment and I've "favourite'd" the segment but under the course segment section in the run they still show up as not crossing any segments. Do the runs have to be after a certain date to be processed? Is the GPS variation between my run and the defined segment causing the issue? I sense from this thread I am not alone with this problem :-)
  • Did a ride this weekend, http://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/497382338, and it's still not crossed any segments! There's loads on that ride :-(
  • I'm getting the same, I created 4 segments a couple of weeks ago. The first time I rode them they updated pretty much immediately, but when I did the same course today they didn't show up.

I'd have expected better performance - maybe Garmin needs to spend less on marketing/sponsorship and a bit more on updating the tech stuff we actually need once we've bought the kit.

Oops, I created a new thread, should have posted in here. I'm seeing the same/similar issue, but for a short while my activity did say it had crossed a segment, but shortly after it says it did not cross any segments even though it certainly did (I was following one on my Edge 1000).

Also experiencing this behaviour, I have had a lot of trouble with segments.
I have favourited several segments and yet they do not appear when I select segments from the web site.
I have to search by name, or zoom to a much smaller area to find them.

One of the reasons I picked up the edge 1000 was so that I could see my results on segments while on the bike.
Thankfully (but with much difficulty) segments you download do work during the ride. (although I have only been able to do this to the unit from the web site and USB cable, not Garmin connect on my iPhone)

I think Garmin needs to put in some overtime cleaning up their web site or it's going to hurt the sales of the edge 1000. it is bad enough that they are duplicating Strava segments Instead of just letting us import Strava's segments. I bet a lot of people would spend the extra cash for an edge 1000 just to help win the title for their favourite Strava segment...

Ironically, when I upload my ride to strava, it has all of the segments I rode, including the one that is almost a direct match for the one I was tracking on my unit...
  • I am having the same problem as the rest of you here. I've created four segments. There are about forty people on one of them. Since I created these, I have ridden them over ten times with three different garmins (510, 510, 500). All activities give the same message, "This activity did not cross any favourite segments" and "This activity did not cross any other segments". I'm not going to bother buying an edge 1000 until they fix this problem.
  • I am having the same problem.

    I created this segment: http://connect.garmin.com/modern/segment/3F0A9DD974E44EAE93050ADAEBC8CC58

This activity should cross that segment, but Connect is still telling me it does not.

I rode a segment on July 4th. The activity said "This activity didn't cross any segments" but when I go into "create a segment" I see the segment and that I already rode it. How do I get Garmin to fix this? Many others have been updated on this segment since July 4th.
