uploading file in .tcx or .gpx format

I was tyring to export my activities from the Garming Training Center software and upload them to Garmin Connect but haven't been able to sucessfully do so. I've tried exporting both as .gpx files and as .tcx files and then upload to Connect via the manual import part of the Garmin connect interface. However, I get "An error occurred with your upload. Please try again" everytime I try. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Do i have to upload only one activity at a time? (I tried this also, but couldn't get it to work.)

I have also been getting this error for the past week or so. I have previously successfully used the manual upload of .gpx files dozens of times.

I'm having a similar problem. I try to manually upload .gpx files and get the error "An error occurred with your upload. Please try again." I try to upload files that have previously worked and they no longer are able to be uploaded.
• Same problem here...
Garmin has great devices but syncing and sharing is terrible!!!
I just started to use my new edge 810 and I'm facing a lot of problem with that. I cannot upload my old courses (.gpx), i cannot share my activity via mobile connect... I was used to use my smartphone to do everything... I'm really disappointed by being forced to physically connect my device VIA CABLE to my PC to be really able to do most of the task that are normally done via mobile data with other apps!

I'm simply trying to manually upload, via Garmin connect, a .gpx file located on my laptop that I created on "cycleroute.org" but get an error saying "We don't support the file type you tried to upload", even thought the Garmin connect upload page states that "We currently support .tcx .gpx and .fit files" - Come on Garmin, how about a response to this thread????
• I've found a few issues with Garmin Connect's import support.

In some cases, the original file contains a byte-order-marker, and Garmin Connect trips up on that. To prove it to yourself, open original.gpx in wordpad (write.exe). Copy the text to the clipboard (press CTRL+A, then CTRL+C). Create a new document (CTRL+N), paste the clipboard into the new document (CTRL+V). If you look at the contents of the new document and see a block of xml similar to this one, you should delete it.

<extensions>
<gpxx:TrackExtension>
<gpxx:DisplayColor>Cyan</gpxx:DisplayColor>
</gpxx:TrackExtension>
</extensions>

Now save the document as a new .gpx file (CTRL+S). Try uploading that file to Garmin Connect.

I am hitting similar issues. I am trying to upload a gpx file exported from Basecamp. Where I was able to get this to work by the copy and paste into wordpad it is now giving the "An error occurred with your upload. Please try again." error no matter what I try. Deleting the <extensions> block also does not help. Any other ideas of how to get a track out of Basecamp and onto the Connect site?
• Upload your gpx file so I can look at it.

• Same problem here with an etrex 20. Last successful upload to garmin connect was April 6th. Manual upload of gpx files doesn't work. Deleting the extensions section didn't work.
• Same here - tried fit, tcx and gpx - nothing works for now.
Very frustrating… Seems that only cycling app that can upload to Garmin Connect is Wahoo fitness - too bad it doesnt allow to compete against previous runs...
