Can no longer send workouts to FR620 - Training for marathon please help!

From Garmin Connect on a Mac (tried Safari, Chrome and Firefox) I can no longer send workouts to my FR620 (since 19th Feb).

I did have the Express Fit installed and running as well as the Garmin Communicator Plug-in.
Today I installed the new Garmin Express 3.0.1 hoping this would fix this issue but it has not. This is running and shows the FR620 as connected - syncs run ok, firmware up to date.

I have tried sending workouts with the Express Fit app running and quit - neither works. I just can no longer send my scheduled workouts:
>Garmin connect, Plan Calendar, Send Workouts to Device, I get "No device found that supports Scheduled Workouts."

If I browse to the communicator plugin link: http://software.garmin.com/en-US/gcp.html This says it is up to date (4.0.0.1) and detects my 620 ok.

620 firmware 2.50

I purchased the watch to train for a marathon and am 1/4 into my training but now can not upload new workouts so am very very upset having purchased the flagship running watch.

Does anyone have any ideas??

Thanks

Jonathan

Are there alternative sites you can use?

Whilst I realise that my Garmin Edge 810 is a different device and although I am having trouble with downloading courses I wonder if your inability to download a work out is a similar problem?

I wonder if, whilst waiting for Garmin to resolve the problem, it is worth investigating how similar it is and whether you could use other similar sites to create the workout/course/training plan? I would imagine that the mechanism/engine is similar for both the FR620 and the Edge 810 and the fact that you have a NEWFILES folder in a GRAMIN folder makes it very similar to the folder structure on mine.

Once you have gone through your download procedure, before detaching/disconnecting the device, can you check the NEWFILES folder to see what it has put there?

Can you then copy this to your PC/MAC and open the file to see what is in it? (may need to rename the copied file to allow a plain text editor to open it?
Is it quite small, typically 5kb? does it mention 'SITE NOT BEING AVAILABLE?'

If so, it may be the same problem others are experiencing?

I suppose the next step is researching whether other sites can create a file(maybe in GPX format) that you can use?

As of Sunday 3/2, my 620 device can accept calendar export now. The site seems to have been reverted back to before the problematic update a week back. Hopefully all other devices are working now.

It does here too ! Nicely done. Thank you for my nerves and my device :)
  • Hello

Yes - this now works again!

Garmin Support eventually (after a week) replied to my support email about this asking me to update the firmware on my 620 (which was already at 2.50)! I questioned this and then support emailed to say it was a known issue with no fix ETA (after the forum moderator had posted to say it was fixed).

So, in summary its all working but Garmin support is not anywhere near good enough and the roll-out of the new Garmin Connect was in my opinion handeled very badly. Good hardware is only as good as the software *AND* support that goes with it. Having paid over £350 (UK) for the 620 HSM which is supposed to be the very best flagship running watch - I feel very let down by Garmin.

Ok, that's really bad. It does not work anymore.

    Not working for me either.
I've tried via the Workouts menu and when I click on Send to device, nothing happens, no popup no nothing.
I've tried via the Calendar menu and when I click on the send to device arrow, I get the popup, I select my watch (FR620), click send and get stuck on "Processing data to write..."

I don't really know what to do at this point. If anyone has any sort of solution or workaround, it'd be greatly appreciated.

As of today, I´ve been trying all week long to sync workouts or training plans without any success.

I just bought this watch, and ever since I got it I´ve had nothing but trouble. On top of that, I made a hard reset in order to try to fix it, but to my surprise, now it can't connect to Wi-fi. Garmin Express and Garmin Express Fit fail to pair my watch with my wifi.

I´m so disappointed!!! Should've sticked with Polar :'(

Calendar workouts not being sent to 620

Anyone get any info on the fix for this issue? I just bought a 620, have everything up to date but the "Sending to device" screen just freezes and nothing happens. I'm able to transfer individual workouts, but not the calendar.
