New Garmin Connect iPhone App Sync Problems

So the new connect App is here. Looks smart.

However after today's ride there was no success uploading (Syncing) the new activity from the device (Edge 810).

Phone and Edge paired successfully and I have redone the pairing process to be sure. Also I have restarted both the Device and iPhone.

The little info bar at the bottom of the app screen says:

Syncing with Nick's 801

The soon after:

Sync Failed
Device Connection Error

Anyone else having the same problem?

Edge 510 not syncing via bluetooth to Iphone 6Plus

And here we are, over two years since this thread started - another update - and connection problems once again.
Almost every freaking time there is an update, there are connection issues!!
If the Garmin-BT house of cards isn't broken, the website is down...
Oh, and LiveTrack is also broken.

    Hugs to my fellow sufferers,
    Susi xx

Same as above. Still having this issue "Sync Failed, Device connection Error"
Does anyone have a fix. I have tried everything (delete app, delete rides, unpair, hard reset, work arounds) and nothing works.
    HELP!!!

Once again, my Edge 1000 will not connect to my iPhone 6

I tried the things that fixed it the last time. Didn't work this time. Tried the suggestions in this thread. My phone actually said I was connected at one point, but no dice on the Garmin side. Too bad, the Edge is amazing tech when it works, and I'd like to get the Fenix watch and the power pedals, but there's no way I'm going to buy another Garmin product because of all the software issues with the Edge. Why does Garmin kept coming out with new products all the time when the old ones don't work!

    Hey Bruce, and others.

The way I got my VivoActive to pair in the end was to remove the BT profile on my iPhone from the iPhone BT Device List (Forget This Device).
Then go into the Garmin Devices menu in Connect and unpair the watch.
I also deleted Connect, removed the data when asked, and reinstalled Connect (it *should* download the data from the <spit> 'cloud' after you log back in to Connect).

Turn off BT on the watch. Reboot the watch. Make sure BT is still off on the watch.
Get Connect to the point where you are ready pair with a watch/device (make sure there are no ANT+ devices in range (or other BT devices...) as that can mess it up too!!!).
Start Connect looking for a new Garmin device.
***Very Quickly*** turn on BT on the watch, select pairing on the watch, and follow the instructions on Connect.

I found that **pairing failed every time** if BT on the watch was turned on **before** Connect went into pairing mode. In my non-expert opinion, it is a conflict between Connect and the phone itself trying to manage the BT connection.

Oh, one last thing - there was a firmware/OS update a few days ago (for the VivoActive) that was supposed to help with BT pairing.
As I paired before this, I'm loathe to break the pairing to see if it's better.
(I did the update to the watch and surprisingly it didn't break the pairing!)
It might be worth checking to see if there is an update for your device/watch/band, etc.

    Hope this helps someone.
