New Garmin Connect iPhone App Sync Problems

So the new connect App is here. Looks smart.

However after today's ride there was no success uploading (Syncing) the new activity from the device (Edge 810).

Phone and Edge paired successfully and I have redone the pairing process to be sure. Also I have restarted both the Device and iPhone.

The little info bar at the bottom of the app screen says:

Syncing with Nick's 801

The soon after:

Sync Failed
Device Connection Error


Anyone else having the same problem?

    I had the same with my Edge 510 and iPhone 5c.

    First I tried removing and reinstalling the app - no dice.

    Then I tried removing the app, telling the phone to forget the Edge 510, and telling the Edge 510 to forget the phone. Reinstall the app, and pair the devices - worked a charm!

    Same issue with the edge 1000. A shame such issues for such an expensive gadget.

    I've had the same problem for the past 3 months with my 510. This has to be the worse software and hardware upgrade that I have ever seen. My 500 worked perfectly and I would go back to it had I not given it away. I don't think Garmin cares. They have such a monopoly on the market that I'm sure they are probably gonna come up with another excuse/device to convince you to buy. This problem has existed for months and its sad to see that there hasn't been a software update.

    I have had my Garmin 220 for about 6 months, connected to phone great but then about 3 months ago stopped. I had a play with my Iphone and deleted a couple of other bluetooth devices, reinstalled the app and all worked fine for about 5 days and now I can pair the device but connection / syncing fails - have tried to reinstall app .. TWICE but no joy! the app reviews is full of the same comments... I have no idea what else to try????
    My sister has same phone and same watch and has no problems .. I don't get it??

    My iPhone will not sync with edge 1000. Lots of money for no answers on this forum.....let's see have had a garmin 602, and currently a Fenix2 and edge 1000- I hope they respond! ;)

    Same issue for months found work around

    Hey ,
    This worked for me, was able to do it the last three rides. When finished with my ride, on my 510 I hit the pause key and then Save, at this point the sync to my phone fails. Device says sync failed and my phone has the red line on the bottom of the app. Then from the 510, i navigate to my rides, last ride, hit the upload button on the 510, 2 seconds later the 510 says upload complete.. my phone still says sync failed, but its lying.. the ride is there and i am on my phone and pc looking at the data with no issues...

    Hope it helps someone.

    End of March 2015 ... problem still exists ... any signb of the G-men fixing it ... Very poor
  • Yep, same thing happened last update, but after several deletion of apps and removal of pairing and redoing it started working. This time however no such luck. Sick of deleting and installing and pairing and rebooting all to no avail. Not impressed at all garmin and the lack of official response is pathetic

    Same issue with my Android phone and 810, deleted app and re installed via Googleplay on phone and it didn't work, so I unistalled again, cleaned phoned with CCleaner, then reinstalled app via Garmin site by syncing laptop with phone; works now....
