Garmin Connect on Chromebook

While I realize that a Chromebook cannot install software and therefore lacks the ability to add either the Communicator app or Ant-Agent, I have always been able to upload via another computer and still be able to access everything on my Chromebook. However, today the connect website came up and it looked incredibly weird. The formatting was all off with the tabs in a list format and there were random messages in the margins saying something to the effect of communicator is not compatible with my browser. Was there some sort of update recently that would make Chrome suddenly not compatible with the website at all? I am not so concerned about uploading anything but it has always worked fine to view activities and share workouts. Now it most definitely is not. Anyone else having similar issues?
I am highly disappointed to see that I need a PC or a Mac to update the software on my Garmin vivoactive automatically. I'm aware there are manual workarounds that are far far from ideal.
It has been several years now and Garmin has not done anything to help users who use Chromebooks only, or a Windows/Mac machine with no Administrative rights to install the Garmin Connect software.
Garmin, if you are reading this, please consider supporting software updates and syncing of your devices on Chromebooks or through the Chrome browser with an extension. Not all of us have admin access to a Windows based machine just to sync up devices and update software or other settings. This functionality is long overdue.
Me too. Apparently, Garmin chooses not to keep up with technology. Pushing us even more to using all other GPS technology that is ALL device friendly. I've been using a Chromebook for years now also. No more windows. So, I guess I will also stop using my Garmin GPS. Too bad, It was a good tool in the 1990s. So much for Lifetime Maps and Traffic, apparently (only if you use Windows.) Garmin, are you listening to all of us???
