Importing .tcx files created by cycleops Poweragent

I use a powerbeam turbo which is controlled by a cycleops joule computer so for turbo riding it's easier to just use the joule for everything rather than trying to set up a garmin as well. The data can then be downloaded to poweragent which allows me to export as a .tcx file which I then upload to garmin connect and strava.

On strava the resulting rides look fine, but on GC the power is missing and the distance (and as a result, speed)is massively wrong, see this file for an example. The actual distance should be just over 23 miles!

I'm not sure if it's a problem with the way poweragent converts files or something wrong with GC, but the fact the same file imports into strava ok makes me think it's a GC issue? Has anyone had a similar problem and know of a solution please?

Edit: Just taken another look at the file I linked to, in the graphs the distance seems to be about right but in the summary its shown as 138miles, just to confuse things further! What is going on?
  • You might try exporting the activity from Strava and then manually uploading that file to GC.
  • Thanks for the reply, I've just tried it, but the only export option I could find in Strava was as .gpx, I tried importing the gpx into GC and got the message: Some activities could not be created
  • Well both the .tcx and the .gpx files can be edited with just a simple text editor. There is considerable data in them that gets tedious to deal with without software tools made for the task, but if you can make sense of them, then maybe stripping out the some of the stuff more specific to cycleops might get you something more accurate to view in GC.

Comparing exports from GC to the cycleops file may give you some clues if you are determined enough to wade through it all.

But it's still likely someone knows a better way, hopefully they'll notice your post.
