What's with the new calendar format?

I uploaded my data today to see a totally different calendar format. It sucks.

Why?

The font is a tiny, washed out looking pastel. Your only alternatives are other washed out pastel colors in a tiny font.

Name of activity: no longer displayed.

Color coding by activity: no longer an option. Surprisingly perhaps, multisport athletes might actually want to look at the calendar and quickly identify which are his/her swims, runs, and bikes. The teeny little sports icons are NOT HELPFUL.

I don't understand the point. Maybe it's just a bad dream and when I wake up it will be back to normal.

Not a fan of the new calendar. Really miss the different colors for swim, bike and run. New one looks cheap. Need titles and comments too.
  • I agree with all the complaints about the new calendar format. Completely brain dead. Who came up with this? Did anyone beta test it? So many problems!

Show the titles! Showing only the numbers makes it so much harder to use the calendar. I use those titles to describe the workout. Seeing the titles on the calendar is a quick way to see if I'm on track. Without those titles, the calendar is useless to me. And no, the mouse-over is not even close to good enough. I don't want to have to mouse-over 30 different spots to see what I'm doing. Show the titles above the distance and time, and that would be nice.

What's with the color choices? How about black? I only use the workout category and I would kind of like to be able to see it. The pastels are very hard to see. And it would be nice to be able to hide that panel on the left and show it only when I want to make changes. The calendar is what I want to see, not some options I will set once and never use again. Make it possible to hide it like I can hide or show the weekly totals. I do like the totals.

So please fix this format. And in the future, before you make changes like this, test them first so you have some feedback about whether the changes are really an improvement. This is a disaster.

Thumbs down for the new calendar design. Please change back.
  • The new calendar is terrible, I can't look at a glance and see the ride name or even what activity it was. Why take something so simple and make it so complicated? It wasn't broken, don't try to fix it. Please go back to the old(better) calendar. PLEASE!!!!
  • I hope Garmin has the sense to listen to their customers or they will be former customers. If I don't see a response from Garmin to the 99 percent of users who have voiced a negative opinion to the new calendar then I will sadly be a former customer.
  • Hello,
I would like to see diferent colors for different activities and especially their name; also names of notes
These were the most appreciated features of the old calendar, to have everything at a glance.

    Thank you

Not an upgrade but a step backwards. Please bring the old one back.

so glad to know I''m not alone. I hate the "upgraded" calendar. The font color is awful and I hate that the name of the activity I assigned has disappeared. Go back, please. I continue to struggle with Garmin connect - ANT agent won't pair and now this.
  • Absolutely agree - to me the whole purpose of the calendar is to see at a glance what I have done over the last weeks/months - to do this I need to see the title of the activity, not just the distance - a 3 mile run could be an easy jog, or could be high intensity hill reps - I need to know which it is in order to plan future sessions!

Different colours for different activities was also useful to see at a glance where my focus has been.

If it doesn't change I may have to look for a different package that does.
