Activitiy stuck in "uploading" in Garmin Connect from Edge 500

I completed a ride this morning and tried to upload to garmin connect but the activity appears to be stuck in "uploading" and I can't see it on my activity list and none of the data is available.

I have tried re-uploading, chaining the name etc but it still is sat hanging in "uploading"

I have tried manual uploading but I just get a error saying it could not be uploaded.

Is there a way to get it onto garmin connect or is it now gone forever?

Had this happen to me today, think it may be something to do with following a route. Apparently stoping the ride at the end and holding lap/reset for 3 seconds properly terminates the ride which may fix it.

In the mean time, I uploaded to Strava and exported the gpx from there for manual upload to GC, seemed to do the trick.

This tip worked perfectly - THANKS!

    Also found this site,

    http://garmin.kiesewetter.nl/

You can uploat fit file and it will be corrected for import into garmin (if you dont use strava)

Have the same problem with my Edge 800 since 2 days, too: The upload hangs.
So I updated the Communicator to latest version, tried the Kiesewetter repair solution, tried the detour via Strava and its GPX files (Strava can perfectly read them), tried to upload from my HD --- nothing works.
Anybody one more idea? The last try I could do would be to reset the Edge but this is something I would like to avoid due to loss of settings.
    Thanks in advance.
  • ROBERTKEBBEN-- You could just copy all the activities off of your edge to your pc/mac. Then delete all the activities on your edge and then see if it will upload a new activity. That might save you having to redo all your settings and stuff after the reset.

Additionally, you can try to manually upload the activities one at a time from your pc/mac, then if it balks at any of them, post them in the forum for your device and someone may fix them for you.

Thanks for your quick advice, Voiceresponse ...

but unfortunately this also didn't work. GC detected the now only 3 files as "new" but again hung up uploading.

Also manual upload from my PC brought no success. Hung up uploading.

So maybe someone really can check my routes (see attachment) for a possible bug and tell me what I have to change? My device is an Edge 800. Would make me really happy because until now I have a complete log of all my - almost daily - activities of almost 20'000 km since 2 years.

I've tried everything on this thread bar resetting my garmin 500.

    G Connect wont:
    Upload from device
    Upload from PC (fit file)
Upload from PC (fixed fit file)
Upload from GPX file exported from Strava.

BTW, Strava sees the activity and uploads just fine.

I deleted all activities and only had this mornings ride on the G 500. I can see all details of the activity on the G 500. Doesnt seem corrupted data at all.

Seems to me that the problem is with G Connect. What say ye, Garmin gurus????

yeh same issue as well, cant upload from several different pc's/mac and different accounts and devices (Edge 510 and Forerunner 620). Given your user name and the lack of lots of posts on the issue, wondering if it is related to just one server and it depends where you are to what server you hit. (assuming you are in Aus). A manual upload gives a JSON file prompt.

It has been like this for a few days now.

Bang on Wilko. In West Aust and it only started to be a problem a few days ago.
Hate to think that Garmin knows there is a server problem and hasnt bothered to address it nor keep us wallets informed. But hardly surprised.

I'm in West Australia. Have been having the same problem with my Edge 500 since Thursday evening 6th February 2014. Uploads to Garmin Connect are stuck in an eternal 'Uploading' loop. Uploading to Strava works just fine.

Come on Garmin, get your act together and fix this please!

    Thanks, TTubrag
