Activitiy stuck in "uploading" in Garmin Connect from Edge 500

I completed a ride this morning and tried to upload to garmin connect but the activity appears to be stuck in "uploading" and I can't see it on my activity list and none of the data is available.

I have tried re-uploading, chaining the name etc but it still is sat hanging in "uploading"

I have tried manual uploading but I just get a error saying it could not be uploaded.

Is there a way to get it onto garmin connect or is it now gone forever?

Ok well this post might get Garmin's attention.

Another Perth G500 user, same issue since about 6th Feb. The timezone change to China did work, but screw it. Is there an open source application available that can upload .fit files and make them viewable using something like OpenStreetMap?

I don't see why I should continue to give Garmin my info if they aren't going to pay an acceptable price for it (i.e. provide a stable platform).
  • Try STRAVA

You Might Try STRAVA - have not had a problem with it so far http://www.strava.com you need to create an account and go from there.

Thanks for this. (also in Perth)
I have been having this same issue and about ready to throw my garmin at a wall, got no help from support either.
I've just changed my GC settings from "Perth GMT+8.00" to "China GMT+8.00" and immediately the problem is solved.
Thanks all who have been working to solve this.

I had a dozen rides that would not upload. Did the old master reset still will not work.
It doesnot matter what internet program I use IE/Chrome/Mozilla its all the same, reloaded
    communicator plugin totally fustrating.
No probs uploading to Strava just the Garmin site.
Good to see something you pay for works less than a free program, well done Garmin.
  • Did you save the activity files? It might have just been one activity file causing GC to balk.
  • Just Downloaded and installed new Garmin software called "Garmin Express". It connects to Garmin Connect Automatically and uploads new activity automatically when you connect your GPS to your Computer. It also informs you and installs new firmware for your devices.

It installed some new firmware on my device, guess what, it was a Time Zone update!

I have switched my Garmin Connect settings back to Western Australian time and it now works as it should, uploads work fine.

Only 3-4 years to fix this one Garmin

I experienced this for the first time today with a FR610. Located in Sydney. Changing TZ to something else also fixed it. Thanks all.
