Activitiy stuck in "uploading" in Garmin Connect from Edge 500

I completed a ride this morning and tried to upload to garmin connect but the activity appears to be stuck in "uploading" and I can't see it on my activity list and none of the data is available.

I have tried re-uploading, chaining the name etc but it still is sat hanging in "uploading"

I have tried manual uploading but I just get a error saying it could not be uploaded.

Is there a way to get it onto garmin connect or is it now gone forever?

I've solved mine: it's the time zone settings on the garmin and garmin connect. They have to be the same. For me NSW time zone on both did the trick, it's probably the same for WA: Both on West Australian time, or both on China time. Nothing to do with firmware, browser, etc. ...

I checked my settings and they are both on the same time zones, still not uploading. Ive now sent a message to Garmin support and hope to hear back from them. Not holding my breath though.

For me: This solved the problem

I've solved mine: it's the time zone settings on the garmin and garmin connect. They have to be the same. For me NSW time zone on both did the trick, it's probably the same for WA: Both on West Australian time, or both on China time. Nothing to do with firmware, browser, etc. ...

This worked for me. I brought the time zone in my GC settings (before: Australian time) into agreement with my Edge 800 (now both Bangkok Time Zone), and voila - I can upload as usual.
Thanks a lot for this post!

I am also are having issues uploading from Edge 510 on and of for weeks but really stuck since Saturday 8/2, however a mate has the same model and his has uploaded?? Have sent email to Garmin with details of issues and what I have tried to do to resolve. Maybe Garmin will hear all of these issues and fix.

  • Same issue - Stravabound very soon

    Hi Guys,

Same for me and my watch doesn't have a time zone!! I am in WA also.

This is my second watch, and both started doing it last week. Before then, all was fine.

I think the fact that it works fine with Strava rules out the browser, the laptop, the watch, a file corruption and the usb cable mean (imho) that this has to be a Garmin issue. Some sort of timeout issue??? an infrastructure issue??

Where are the servers? Are the impacted people all in WA?

Garmin have to be looking hard at this as i'm very close to giving up and just going to Strava. It's only due to my calendar being populated that has kept me around this long.

Happy to try whatever is required, but need something from Garmin.
  • I have the Same issue started after a ride on 8/2 and am from WA.
    Same Issue
    Using Edge 200.
File uploaded just fine on Strava
Was also able to load the File in Garmins old software "Training Centre" so looks like nothing wrong with the file, device or internet link.
I suspect this is an issue at Garmin.
I have also logged a support case with Garmin but have heard nothing from them.
Customer service does not seem to be high on their priority list
My next GPS will not be a Garmin at this point.

    Same here
I have a Garmin Edge 500. Uploads fine on Strava. I'm also from West Australia.
I am convinced that this is a Garmin Connect issue.
Come on Garmin sort this out.

Same problem over here on a Forerunner 110. Another from Perth, WA. Last attempted upload was yesterday and it just stayed on the never ending "uploading" loop.

    Hope it gets fixed soon.

This seems to be an issue since mid last week @ 05/Feb. Seems to be a lot of Western Australians with the issue. Some-one suggested changing time zone from GMT+8(Perth) to GMT+8(China) in your Garmin connect profile settings. I tried uploading tonight and no luck. Changed to GMT+8 China and it worked immediately. I have emailed Garmin with the issue.
