Cannot send 'Workouts' to device (610) from Garmin Connect

I just received a 610 for Christmas. I've been using it successfully and have even saved and sent courses to my device via the ANT Agent so that I can use the virtual racer. Awesome :) However, I cannot send the workout I've saved in my connect account to my device. It shows on my computer and my 610 that the data is being transferred, but it never actually shows up on my device.

Not sure if it matters but I'm using a PC, Windows 7.

I've also tried re-starting my PC and my 610. No dice.

Any suggestions?

I have the same issue with a new FR610. Says it is sent, nothing appears. I have no problem uploading activities but cannot make the 'send to device' function work. Anyone know the problem and what the fix might be?

Same for me, Garmin 405, Windows 7. Was working a while back, but not any more. I had to factory-reset my computer recently, and I'm wondering if that has caused it. But not sure why it should. Like you I can upload runs to the computer quite happily, but none of the workouts I create will go to the watch. If anyone has any bright ideas, let us know! :)

If you're using Windows and Internet Explorer, you'll need to add garmin.com to the list of trusted sites.
In IE go to Tools > Internet Options > Security > Trusted Sites > Sites. Uncheck "require server verification." Enter *.garmin.com, click Add, click OK. Close IE. Restart IE.

Once you send the course, and before it transfers to the watch, you should see the .fit file here:
    C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Roaming\Garmin\Devices\3638521116\NewFiles\

After it transfers to your watch, it will be moved to:
    C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Roaming\Garmin\Devices\3638521116\Workouts\

    610 won't take a course

Please, need same help for OS X 10.8.2

I'm running a Mac as well. It seems that the communication is one way (watch--->Mac). Although, when I click [sent to device] Garmin Connect says it sees my 610 and [Course successfully sent to device]. I "think" I've looked at every screen on the watch... nothing. One other odd thing: when I send the course to the device, I don't get any "transferring data" message on the watch. Not sure that this will happen but it makes sense that I would see this, as I do when uploading data to GC. Perhaps GC just "thinks" it sent the course to my 610?

    HELP!

    Problem to connect 610

When I request to upload the data the garmin.com says that no devices where found. I`ve tried using the ANT or connecting with the USB. Neither way worked.

Same issue with 310xt. This software is terrible. I can't update firmware in the 310 either because of the same issue "no devices found." It is also a crapshoot if it's going to connect with ANT to upload workout data. Usually after I exit and restart ANT Agent it goes, but still the workout I created on Garmin Connect will not send to device. Anyone had any luck here? Windows 7 64 bit.
  • Downloading workouts solved!

I have a 610 and on Mac OS X 10.8. I found the solution. I found out it worked in Safari because i could set garmin.com as a trusted site. I did that in Firefox and it worked. Here is the solution I got from Garmin support here in Norway. They are super fast to answer my support questions!

    - First make sure garmin.com is set as trusted site in your browser

    - Then delete all pending uploads. This is how to do find them:

    Windows XP
    C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\Garmin\Devices\[unit-id]\Garmin Connect\Pending Uploads

    Windows Vista/7
    C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\GARMIN\Devices\[unit-id]\Garmin Connect\Pending Uploads

    MAC
    Finder/[username]/Library/Application support/Garmin/Devices/[unit-id]/Garmin Connect/Pending Uploads

    It should work again now!

added-> I found out how to add a trusted site to newer Firefox. Type this in the URL -> about:permissions (should be "about" and ":" followed by "permissions" and you can edit sites permissions.
  • I was only answering to the problem with workouts not being able to transfer to the 610. I always saw my device. It said "Found device 610". If it does not find your device it must be a problem with the USB drivers. In Windows I had this problem and uninstalled the USB drivers and reinstalled. That fixed it. Also check the cable on 910 that it is connected firmly. If this doesn't help I would contact Garmin support.
