Cannot send 'Workouts' to device (610) from Garmin Connect

I just received a 610 for Christmas. I've been using it successfully and have even saved and sent courses to my device via the ANT Agent so that I can use the virtual racer. Awesome :) However, I cannot send the workout I've saved in my connect account to my device. It shows on my computer and my 610 that the data is being transferred, but it never actually shows up on my device.

Not sure if it matters but I'm using a PC, Windows 7.

I've also tried re-starting my PC and my 610. No dice.

Any suggestions?

Very useful thank you for your help.

It work very good, thank you for your recommendation. My Garmin it is uploading again the info.

If you're using Windows and Internet Explorer, you'll need to add garmin.com to the list of trusted sites.
In IE go to Tools > Internet Options > Security > Trusted Sites > Sites. Uncheck "require server verification." Enter *.garmin.com, click Add, click OK. Close IE. Restart IE.

Once you send the course, and before it transfers to the watch, you should see the .fit file here:
    C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Roaming\Garmin\Devices\3638521116\NewFiles\

After it transfers to your watch, it will be moved to:
    C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Roaming\Garmin\Devices\3638521116\Workouts\

I have a 610 and on Mac OS X 10.8. I found the solution. I found out it worked in Safari because i could set garmin.com as a trusted site. I did that in Firefox and it worked. Here is the solution I got from Garmin support here in Norway. They are super fast to answer my support questions!

    - First make sure garmin.com is set as trusted site in your browser

    - Then delete all pending uploads. This is how to do find them:

    Windows XP
    C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\Garmin\Devices\[unit-id]\Garmin Connect\Pending Uploads

    Windows Vista/7
    C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\GARMIN\Devices\[unit-id]\Garmin Connect\Pending Uploads

    MAC
    Finder/[username]/Library/Application support/Garmin/Devices/[unit-id]/Garmin Connect/Pending Uploads

    It should work again now!

added-> I found out how to add a trusted site to newer Firefox. Type this in the URL -> about:permissions (should be "about" and ":" followed by "permissions" and you can edit sites permissions.

    Hello,

I have a Forerunner XT910, and have this problem to, so I did what SEILOGRAMP and ASLEB suggest (thank you both for your help), but the problem is not solved here, I have garmin added as a trusted website, and the folders: "Pending Uploads" "NewFiles" and "Workouts" are emty all the time. I have XP and IE 8.

I hope someone have a solution.

Edit: In this topic I've read that Google Chrome is working well, I tried and it works well, so I'm done for now.

Workout title too long or perhaps not formatted correctly.

I was able to get it working by making a short title without special characters in it. My first attempts had '.5 mile intervals'. After switching the title to '400m ints' it synced to my device fine. In both cases the ANT agent said that it successfully transferred my workouts. Obviously, this might not solve everyone's problems, but it solved the silent failure for me.

I was having the exact same problem on my Mac OSX 10.8.4
My 910 XT would not receive any courses although the connect site said data transferred.

I fixed this by manually starting the ANT agent and as soon as that found the 910 it transferred all the data, problem solved.

(Ex PC user and assumed the ANT agent would run constantly in the background!)

I have the same problem (Mac OS X 10.6.8).

Doing everything that has been advertised here does not solve my issue. Garmin training center and Garmin connect say my device doesn't
    support workouts.

I am really surprised that Garmin delivers software of such poor quality!

    Does anybody have other suggestions?

    Thanks in advance.

You can set the ANT Agent to start when you start the Mac in its preference settings. Click on the 'Mickey Mouse' ears in the status bar at the top.

Found this thread after experiencing a similar issue with my 610. I think (i say think because people seem to experience this issue and sometimes it just disappears) it has been solved so i am posting this here for other people.

    My setup
    1. Win 7
    2. Firefox 22
    3. Ant Agent 2.3.4

These were the symptoms i experienced:
    1. Data would upload to GC
    2. "Send to device" on GC would not work. GC would report no device found.
    3. Going to the communicator plugin page (http://software.garmin.com/en-US/gcp.html) showed that i had the latest plugin but would not detect any device.
    4. C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\Garmin\Devices contained no folders. I.e. there wasn't a folder with my device id.

After a bit of searching for a 610, GC or ant agent specific problem i eventually found a forum post on running ahead where someone mentioned that someone told them Garmin had told them to go to the ant agent folder and delete an html file. So i checked the the folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\ANT Agent) and found there were no html files but there was a xml file (DefaultDeviceSettings.xml). Xml files open in IE by default so i could see that being interpreted as being an html file. So i closed the ant agent, renamed the file to .old and then restarted the agent. I tested the send to the device and it now works and the uploads to GC also still work.

Hope this will help someone who just got their watch and was beginning to think they just wasted a whole lot of money :D

Same problem with my 610 - I'll try the XML fix - what I found was that if I checked the work out as "other" (because I use it for Cross Fit as well) it would send to the device but it won't show up in my custom folder on the watch. If I changed it to "running" it worked! STUPID Garmin!

No it is not. BTW, I am having the same issues on my laptop, which runs Mac OS X Lion.
From GC, this is the screenshot that shows that the 310XT is recognized (in Italian):

And this is the screenshot that tells me that it doesn't support workouts (also in Italian):
