Garmin Connect failed due to server erroe

I methodically went through with all this. When the Forerunner reconnected it came up with the same "server error". :(

    http://connect.garmin.com/help/faq
Go to "Upload" section, FAQ "Garmin ANT Agent won't transfer data to Garmin Connect , What should I do?". I followed this and forced a data trasfer on my 405csx. Success. All runs since last Thursday now in Garmin Connect.

But does it still have the same issue?

Tried the force method and it still fails.

me too!!! I have a 310xt and it loads and tranfers everything, but then at the very last second it won't go to Garmin Connect because it says "fail due to server error." Is there a "force method" for the 310x? I couldn't find it in the manual. I tried the "transfer all." I tried making certain the computer and the watch are both "enabled" to be pair up. I tried making sure I am signed into Garmin Connect so it will transfer after it's done loading.
What can I try Next?? I've read all the "HELP" and none of the suggestions work.
  • this should work! :)

I just had the same problem (and have a 310XT ) the problem is not your unit, but glitches with Garmin Connect. It happened a few days ago, appeard fixed, but has failed again today "fail due to server error".
If it transferred to your computer successfully, (which it sounds like it did, just like mine) you can manually upload it.
Sometimes the hardest part is finding the file ;)

    1. Go open up your Garmin Connect page like you normally do to look at your stuff, whether it be dashboard, calendar etc... LOOK --> Up in the right-hand corner under your username there is a button that has an upwards arrow & Download
    Click that button!
    2. it will then say "looking for devices" and load a page with menu of choices : "detected device(s), "upload all", "upload selected", "upload health"...
SKIP all those and find at the bottom "manual upload" -
    Click on it! -->Manual Upload
    4. Click the Browse button.
    5. Go to C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\GARMIN\Devices\, click the numbered folder, then click History folder.
    6. Select the appropriate file to upload (each file is named by the date of the activity).
    7. Click Upload activities from file button.

Good luck! let us know if you got it to work (or not) :)

Just tried that Katy and it seemed to be working but all of a sudden it said 'failed due to server error' again!!
    Damn it! :(

With regards to manual upload...as I'm not very savvy as finding files etc where do I find that c:\Users thing?
    I'm on a laptop using Windows 7.

maybe you should write out or print the string, and cross off each one as you find it so you don't lose your way ;)

C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\GARMIN\Devices\, numbered folder, History, Select the appropriate file(activity) to upload (each file is named by the date of the activity).
Just follow along step by step, you may have to scroll at each step to find the next item you are looking for....be methodical, and you will get there :)

    1. click upload (top right corner 'button')
    2. click manual upload (near bottom)
    3. Click Browse (you will then get a pop-up window)
    4. Doubleclick "Computer"
    5. Doubleclick "Local Disc (:C)"
    6. Scroll down and find "Users" folder & doubleclick it
    7. Double click on your username (or if you don't have one try OEM)
    8. Doubleclick "AppData"
    9. Doubleclick "Roaming"
    10. Doubleclick "Garmin"
    11. Doublclick "Devices"
    12. Doubleclick the last/latest dated numbered file
    13. Doubleclick "History"
    14. Scroll down to find the TCX files (look at the dates) doubleclick on the one you want , to open it
    15. Click "Upload activities from file" . When it has finsihed loading there should be a green tick/checkmark &" "view here" :) success!!
    Good luck!

  • Same problem with my Garmin Forerunner 910XT. Server Error, synching with GarminConnect.

But the problem is that after synchronizing it deletes automatic all the data on the Forerunner. So all recent trip data is lost...

    I do not like this...

Even if you are deleting it off your device, it should still be in the file mentioned in the earlier threads.
