Would it be possible to add a facility to link accounts and enable you to sync activities with MyFitnessPal automatically?

I can't understand why Garmin is silent on this subject. Can't you give us SOME information? Is it being worked? Is there an ETA for MFP integration? All we get is silence which is why I'm ready to return my Vivofit. Garmin makes good hardware, but support is nearly non-existent.

The reason Garmin would be silent would be because it's honestly not their place to declare a partnership status before said partnership was announced. No different than any other industry/company partnership.

With Garmin Connect the way it is today, such a partnership would actually be driven by MFP, and not Garmin. Of course, Garmin could do their part and prod MFP to put something in place. And, perhaps they are. And perhaps it's just like the other data transfer partnerships announced this past week (the first ones, btw) that the technical integration is taking longer than they expect.

I'd be curious though if someone reached out to MyFitnessPal support and asked them...

I posted on the MFP support and forums that I wanted connectivity with Garmin.
  • Please, please! Yet another desperate used who would love to have the ability to integrate w/ MFP.

Hate to be a naysayer here--but as a causalty of Fitbit Flex which integrates with MFP, I say, "why bother?" You track your calorie intake in MFP. You have calorie burn goals and tracking in Garmin. I love MFP and am a devoted user, but if you were to eat the calories it says you have remaining for the day, you would gain weight. The steps in FItbit are so inaccurate that by the time they get to Calories Remaining for the day, same thing. "Steps" (especially from a wrist device) in general are so inaccurate as a way of measuring calories burned (much less suggesting that you increase your calorie intake based on them) that I think it is really misleading. Believe me, anyone who has been a user of Fitbit Flex will tell you that it ain't worth it.
