Simple Button Request - Duplicate Course

This is a simple, but heartfelt request to the Garmin Connect Dev, give us a button in the Courses that allows us to duplicate the course.

This would allow us to take an existing course, which we like, then edit it and save it under a different name.

I could then add 10km, or whatever, to my favourite course without losing the original.

It's surely a very simple thing to achieve, but I'd really appreciate it. :)

2009 a SAVE AS button was requested. It does NOT affect the devices (eg Edge 500) or firmware or hardware. It is not asking for a richer edit capability like editing a mid portion of a ride. It is asking for a web developer to add a button on the screen which could be called SAVE AS (why not follow industry standards so that is a good as any name) and then save the course to a new name by PROMPTING us for the new name. Like any SAVE AS dialog in every other web app or PC/MAC app.

As a retired person with over 40 years in the IT industry, I know the effort this would take - this would take 1 programmer 1 hour to do. Then of course properly test and publish an update to the web. OK. 1 man day.

This is now 6 years later.

Imagine creating a resume in Word (2 hrs) for a new job, then deciding you want to send it to 10 companies but you need to change the top line. And you have to type the thing 10 times (20 hrs).

Ridiculous. Even back then when we used "typewriters", we have the option of carbon paper!

I will not replace/upgrade by edge 500's and my other Garmin devices until I see this request filled.

I'd also love to see this feature added to Garmin Connect. But I would say, at this point, the dev team has undoubtedly looked at adding this feature and have concluded it is not a feature they want to create. Why not? Who knows... maybe they're afraid the storage costs for Courses would increase 10x as we all made dozens of copies of the same courses? I don't really know, but at this point you have to know they've considered it and decided against it.

As a retired IT person with 40 years experience, "disk space is cheap!" There is NO excuse for not having a SAVE AS. It will cost them. I'm looking to replace my edge 500 and until I see action here on this feature (and it is a stretch calling this a feature), I'll be walking with my dollars to the competition.

its a pain when you plan to extend a run or do another path because a road construction.
