Elevation graph and scale (and other graphs)

The elevation graph on GC is useless.

My "normal" run take me from an altitude of 33 meters to 67 meters MSL. The scale of the altitude graph starts -200 meter MSL and goes 100+ meters MSL. SO my run looks very flat.

I would like the elevation graph to scale, such as to exagerate the altitude as much as possible. I.e. go from 30 -> 70 meters, or exactly the 33->67 meters.

There used to be zoom buttons to make this work, but they are gone.

As for the HR graph, I am missing some option to do something almost the same, but here I want to be able to enter a minimum HR to display, such that I will only see HR from 150 to 180. If I start the watch before warming up, I will get a low HR of <60, and that makes it difficult to see changes in HR during excercise.

    I agree. Please change the scale.

    Still no change to elevation graph scaling. Totally useless the way it's done now. At least in mobile application scaling works nicely.

    Why make the graph scale height in such values?

    low_value = min_height - avg_height*0,20 (20%)
    top_value = max_height + avg_height*0,20 (20%)

    I`cant read what height with this scale.

    Ok, the rule of programming. "You code is sucks, when:"
    1) when he's not working...

    Am I missing something?

    Agree... elevation graph as I understand it is totally useless. However, there might be a way to adjust the scale but I haven't figured it out. On Garmin's Marathon in the Land of Oz website, it shows the race course and hints at changing the elevation. It even shows the elevation in a smaller scale.
  • +1 on this. I have the Venu with 24/7 HR monitoring and the scale is 0-200 which makes it difficult to read when my resting HR is 40-45. Please make the scale auto adjust or make it customizable

  • I enabled the Y-axis adjustment through the GCOverrides (local overrdies of the Garmin Connect website). Currently it is in the experimental stage, so am not quite sure whether it would work for everyone, but on my machine it works all right, and I can now adjust also the scale of the Y-axis.

  • I added yet another feature to the graphs, through GCOverrides - Panning of Graphs - the user can press the Shift key and drag the mouse in order to pan a zoomed graph.

  • Resurrecting an old thread as the elevation graph is truncated unless expanded to full view.

  • It's kind of unbelievable that yesterday I got annoyed by the scale of elevation, as was trying to compare the data.

    And then today thought maybe I could report that as it should be easy fix. Then to find this over 11 years old thread about the problem that still exists and Garmin haven't done anything about that even it's clearly BAD.

    WTF, Garmin?

  • It is easy to fix, even above there was a workaround with overrides and in the linked thread you can find an add-on.

    So as users can fix it, then they could do it even easier, but they sure don't care.
