New Garmin Montana Powers Off When bumpy ride

I have my new Garmin Montana mounted to my offroad motorcycle on a garmin rugged mount. After a few rides, it started to shut off by itself, especially after bumpy roads. Now it wont even go five mins on the bike without shutting off. Even if I take the Montana off the mount and put it into my pocket it will still shut off.

So back at home, with the rechargeable battery installed, if I shake it once towards the tops, it will power off. When I use AAA cells, its does not have this problem (although I have yet to try AAA cells with the unit mounted to the rugged mount on a rough road).

Anyone else have this problem with their Montana on rough roads? They do advertise it for off road vehicles, so I think its quite reasonable to expect it to handle it.

"Built rugged, waterproof and tough. Includes routable maps, supports 24K TOPO maps. Paired with an ATV mount, is ideal for hunting and off-roading. There's nowhere Montana won't take you"

Powers off when bumpy ride is confirmed.
As a workaround, please use it only for walking.

battery moves inside cover, you need to put some paper inside to hold it better, lol

There are different size Lit ion batteries in Montana models, you might have the shorter model.
If so, your dealer will sent another.

I have the Montana in my car and it shuts off three times during my 30 minutes ride. The road is not even bumpy. Garmin should address this problem soon.

I just purchased a Montana 600 and it was doing the same thing with AA batteries installed just the other day while riding in my JEEP on bumpy roads.

I have the same problem, though the crashes are unpredictable. It's certainly not limited to the roughest terrain I ride. More so the opposite - it powered off frequently in two concentrated periods at the start and end of the ride, both times on bitumen. There was a lot of rough off road stuff in the middle where it seemed quite happy. Very odd.
