    Dear Mike Bronze,

Thank you for contacting Garmin International....

It is my pleasure to assist you. Thank you for registering your Edge 500. Garmin has a rich history of collaborating with industry leaders, and using Bing maps with Garmin Connect provided an opportunity to build upon our existing relationship with Microsoft.

Garmin Connect users will continue to enjoy all of the familiar mapping features and functions that bring more than 40 million saved activities to life, and working with Bing will lead to more exciting developments in the future.

    With Best Regards,

    Terry,

    1. Bing is not an industry leader, they are a second rate follower.
    2. We don't care about your relationship with Microsoft - we care about your relationship with us. Do you?
    3. We don't care about exciting developments in the future, by then we would have all jumped ship. We want a good product NOW!
    4. Google Maps IS that good product
    5. Bing isn't

    With best regards

    A disgruntled Garmin customer
  • Unsavory relationship!!!

If I knew that Garmin was working with Microsoft I might have kept a safe distance from their products!

    BRING BACK GOOGLE MAPS!!!!!
  • I'm sorry, Terry, but I will no longer use GC since your change to Bing, for me is almost unusable. You cannot say to us that Bing will have a lot of useful features and bla bla bla, by now (and forever) google is AND WILL BE by far better than bing. You have made a bad change.Maybe if you return with Google maps...
  • Why do they always fix what isn't broken...

I live in Panama Central America..Google was great and up to date and I could see details of the rain forest and communites I run and train in. With Bing I get a very very distant aerial view.....I am so upset, like really upset. I am running the Panama City marathon in two weeks and would have liked to see my run on Google maps! Not cool Garmin, Not cool!

    From a related thread...

From this website you can download Gfix by Xavier Cany.

For users using the Google Chrome web browser, you will be able to see Google Maps on the Activity 'Details' page.

This functions on Mac and XP computers.

A great first step - hopefully similar solutions will be found for the 'Player', 'Explore' and 'Dashboard' pages in GC.
