Cannot upload to Garmin Connect - recent problem

For the last three or four days, I cannot seem to upload to Garmin Connect. I have tried both IE and Firefox. I've cleared all history, caches, etc. I've reset the trusted site information to add *.garmin.com to IE's trusted sites. I've made sure that the plugins are installed by going to the garmin dashboard to make sure that they can communicate with my Edge 705. All to no avail.

All I get is the attached screen shot. I've made no modifications to my system (other than the obligatory windows updates) and have successfully uploaded about 5 days ago. At this point, I'm out of ideas.

    Running Firefox 3.6.10

Upload has not been working for few days; tried clearing cache, didn't seem to help, BUT then tried multiple refreshes on the Upload screen (about 8) until stuff started to appear slowly. Then uploaded as normal.

Hope this helps some poor frustrated souls

On Windows, refreshing the screen, using control and F5, forces the browser to get the newest version of the screen from the Garmin server. Doing that might help for some people. Worth a try.

I've been having problems upload on both FF and IE.

Yesterday I saw the info here about resetting IE to it's defaults. I tired that, and (oddly I thought), I could then upload from my 705 using Firefox (which is my default browser).

This morning though, same problem. Again, when I reset IE back to defaults I could upload using FF, but it's going to be a right PITA if I have to keep doing this..

Still not feeling the garmin love

So I'm still not able to upload. I posted the reply from support that told me to clear the cache on IE and to set the compatibility settings (both of which I did) and still no joy. I replied and asked them to help me focus on getting firefox working. The reply basically said that they know there is a problem and they are working on it. The only suggestion they could offer is to download the latest version of Java.

I notice this morning there is a message about clearing the cache on the website (which still does nothing for me).

Color me frustrated - I guess I'm going to have to take my data and go somewhere else if they can't get this resolved soon.

    You might try this:

Using IE, when you get the blank update screen, hit Control / F5. That should force the browser to reload the update screen from the Garmin server.

At this point, worth a try.
  • I had the same problem on both my Mac and PC using every combination of Firefox, Safari, IE, and Chrome with no luck. I still had a blank screen after clearing the cache from every browser.
I finally got mine to work after messing with some of my settings through my internet service provider (ISP), Embarq. Some ISPs will cache web pages to speed up loading times. You may need to contact your ISP if you continue to have problems.

Oh, yah, that will work here in India. :) I have a hard enough time just getting my ISP to realize they signed me up for the wrong plan.

Do you know what changes they made? Care to share? I have Embarq also and dread calling them. Thanks.

I wish that Garmin would address this problem, instead of asking us to clear the cache...it seems to be a problem on their end.
