I have a Zumo 550, and on our web site we have implemented the Communicator Plugin, and there is a strange problem. The sequence of actions are:
1) I clear all data on the device
2) I download POI and routes, one at the time.
3) After each download I safely unplug the Garmin device
4) After unplugging it from the USB, the Garmin device reboots, and in pop-up I am asked if I want to import new data (yes - of course)
5) I connect again to the USB and the web site to continue the donwload
6) At a certian point, the data on the GPS crashes. What happens is that I am still asked to import new data, but NOT the data I have just downloaded (the new POI/route), but all existing content on the Garmin (except the new POI/route)
In order to reset the unit and make it act normal again, I need to clear all content, and the show starts all over.
I try to do the same sequence of downloads of POI/routes again, trying to repeat the trigger for the error, but the trigger I have not been able to find yet. The data on the Garmin crashed at variable points in the sequence, and I cannot figure out what is wrong.
Do I need to mention that frustration is following me closely those days.....
