My Activities show up with some in kmph (speed) and others in mins/km (pace) and when you sort this gives very odd results.
Is there a possibility to set everything in kmph always ?
  • Same problem here then the previous guys - everything is set to metric, but when linking to facebook it comments in statue and default is statue for everyone not signed in.
I know it's only some puny countries on Earth who use metric :) but I'd be nice to solve this issue (for example when sharing on other media use the users' settings who share the info).

Settings in Metric on yur profile do not apply for facebook

    Go to http://connect.garmin.com/
In the top right corner, it should have your username. So click on your name, then choose settings. (or go to http://connect.garmin.com/settings )
Then it has the option to set measurement units to metric.

This has no effetc on other people viewing your FB share. it will appear in miles, annoyingly. Still looking at it also.

The person who is viewing via Facebook has the ability to click on "view in metric" on the top right corner of the GC screen

I signed out of GC and then I viewed my activity via Facebook to try this. If a person is not signed in, then instead of the "settings" option, there is a toggle between "view metric" and "view statute".

You will have to tell your friends to click on "view metric".

    Hope this helps.

I have the some problem ... but I don't understand because if i share my activity from my profile setting in km, the user non registered in garmin connect sholud display default miles .... should display the parameter as set in my profile

http://connect.garmin.com/settings....after you have logged in ( separate tab on browser)...under Dashboard ...Measurement Units: change this to Metric

Didnt you read the posts above - even after changing it all to metric it still displays it on miles on FB. Its a bug which Garmin are ignoring!

If a anonymous user views the link (ie not signed in) everything defaults to miles/feet etc.

Hey, I have done my research on how to change the units from miles to kilometres and didn't find anything on the matter, until I came across this piece of information. Although I do not understand it completely. Could you please clarify this i.e Is this Garmin Connect?, What page on the website do you start on?, Where is the button 'Under Account' or 'Setting'?
    Thanks

Just found it myself - top right where your screen name appears there is a drop down menu...
  • Once again: the main problem is not viewing the datas on the Garmin Connect site. It can be set to metric easily. The problem is that when I share something on Facebook from my _metric_ profile (my FB contacts are mostly also use metric system), the "base" datas on the FB share picture (distance, average speed, etc.) appear in statue format. Yeah sure if someone interested he/she can see them well on the Garmin site or just calculate them from the datas but it's still an annoyance.
Anyway if no Garmin devs read this forum it makes no sense to speak about it while it seems this problem cannot be solved on user side.

I have the same annoying problem :-(
  • I have the same problem. Garmin developers, please add an optional part in the URL to set the option, eg. ?units=metric. So we can share activities in our preferred units.
