Unable to login to Garmin Connect

Former Member

I am unable to access my Garmin Connect because I can't get past the log in page.

After entering login ID and password the blue bar at the top of the page shows me as being logged in but if I click on any of the tabs all that comes up is the log on page.

Using IE8 and Window Vista and have checked that ANT agent and 310XT software is all up to date. Have also tried clearing the browser cached, all to no avail.

Anyone else had this problem and, if so, how did you resolve it?

Just solved this problem for myself

Just started having this problem recently. Managed to fix it by adding *.garmin.com to my list of trusted sites. Seems garmin have added another site into the login process that the trusted sites feature dislikes. Hope this works for other people.

I can live with the fact that they are down... these things do happen...

What IS irritating though is that the message says:

"Garmin Connect is temporarily unavailable. Feel free to try again in a few minutes, or follow us on Twitter (http://twitter.com/garminconnect) and we'll post status updates and let you know as soon as we're available."

But there is NOTHING on the Twitter page.
    Say... something.

Makes me think that when they ditched the West coast team that developed the site the whole thing fell into the hands of some near retirement middle manager who doesn't own a cell phone, use email, and has no need for a GPS because he's been lost for decades and likes it that way.
  • Been down at least 5 hours

Bought my first Garmin tonight at 7:30 EST, rushed home to try it out. Not a good sign that the site has been down for so long. I will likely return it in the morning... Garmin should at least communicate what is going on. NikePlus isn't as accurate but the site is never down...
  • Investigating

Also, it appears this is not the first time the site has been down for an extended period with no communication from Garmin. I expect more from a company I just gave hundreds of dollars. See the thread from an outage in November...

yes I had the same problem and

instead of adding *.garmin.com, I remove all references to garmin.com from the trusted sites against the security tab

then hey presto I could login again as normal

    so:-
    - internet explorer
    - tools
    - security
    - trusted sites
    - now remove all references to garmin and save
  • Thank you

Thank you so much. I took off all references to garmin in the trusted sites and it worked. I will be sure to give the information to the help desk who was totally useless and told me to use Foxfire.
