In 2026 In a resigned mood: Is Garmin still hating Hiking as an activity category? And finally a fun fact: If at https://connect.garmin.com/app/activities somebody choose the other category ("standing person with hands above his head" icon) the following sub-categories can be chosen: Archery ATV Auto Racing Bike to Run Transition Boxing Breathwork Disc Golf Driving Gaming Floor Climbing Flying Golf Hang Gliding Horseback Riding Hunting Hunting/Fishing Inline Skating Meditation Mixed Martial Arts Motocross Motorcycling Mountaineering Overland RC/Drone Rock Climbing Run to Bike Transition Sky Diving Stopwatch Swim to Bike Transition Transition Whitewater Kayaking/Rafting Wind/Kite Surfing Wingsuit Flying So Hiking is not good enough to be filtered but any of these sports/ categories are so.

If at https://connect.garmin.com/app/activities somebody choose the other category ("standing person with hands above his head" icon) the following sub-categories can be chosen:

Before someone advises me let me disclose that I was diligent enough to test manually https://connect.garmin.com/app/activities?activityType=hiking and found it as a workaround.

But why does someone have to be creative to see his hiking acitivities from the past without the need to be scrolling for minutes???

Use the date filter to view a period of time. Click Advanced button and set time range.

Hiking in 2024: https://connect.garmin.com/app/activities?activityType=hiking&startDate=2024-01-01&endDate=2024-12-31

Just click the Hiking button to get all Hiking activities.

You misunderstood my point. I knew the data filtering. I just meant that in the lack of hiking filtering there is a need to scroll through activities to identify all the hiking ones.

I don't understand what I don't understand. You click the Hiking button and then you will only see the Hiking activities.

No idea why you don't see all buttons. I even see them in the phone browser.

Which browser are you using? I'm using Chrome.

Try desktop mode in the browser.

I use Chrome on my laptops, and Safari with iphone.

I have never ever seen this long list of categories you demonstrated.

Hmm, maybe you are a sort of beta tester for GC? I have no other idea, but it seems that it is new feature, because others also were complaining about the lack of Hiking cat., not just me.

Since I have activities that are of the type "hiking"

I see the hiking button.

The only way the hiking activities button doesn’t appear is when I log in with my wife’s Garmin account; since she has no hiking activities, the button isn’t shown.
