Garmin Connect RSS Feed Issues

Not sure if anyone else is having this issue, but the RSS feed that is available on the myConnect Dashboard does not seem to be updating. In my case, the last activity shown on the RSS feed is from 3/21/2010, but I have several workouts after that date.

This is the first time I've used the RSS feed, so I don't know how frequently it is updated. I figured that it would be a real-time update when new activities are posted.

Any one else experiencing this problem or know who to contact for issues with the website?

Thanks.

RSS feed not picking up workouts from dashboard

Rss won't update to reflect my Garmin Connect stats. Did this issue ever get resolved? It doesn't seem so??

I just started using the RSS feature in Garmin Connect and from all the posts, it appears that this feature is not working well. Last workout tht RSS picked up was Tuesday and I've done another on Wed, Thu, and two on Saturday... none are showing on RSS... disappointing...

It definitely isn't working well (which is bizarre, since RSS is an uncomplicated technology - I can only assume it is something to do with how their database is set up). Uploaded a ride on Saturday and it didn't show in my feed until around 8 hours later. Uploaded another one earlier today and this one isn't showing in the feed. Normally, an RSS feed would simply take its data from the same database tables that are used to show the list of activities in the Dashboard, but it clearly doesn't as the dashboard updates immediately.

Kind of an odd problem to still be kicking around over two years after it was first noticed ... which again indicates something to do with the database setup, and Garmin haven't judged an update to the db to be a priority given the potential for disaster (i.e. loss of data) that it brings with it.

I've spent the whole weekend trying to get this to work. I've finally got 1 post extracted in the RSS. However its not accurate, I've got other activities posted after and before, they are not being listed.

Is there a guide as to how I could go about to set controls for activities in the last one week or 1 month are posted through RSS?

Is anyone else noticing that RSS with Garmin Connect is still buggy?
  • I set this up over a year ago: http://experimentalrunner.wordpress.com/. The widget on the right is configured to use RSS from GC. It has worked from the day I set it up. How are you trying to use the RSS feed for your activities? If it's for a blog, is Activity Privacy set to Public for the ones you want to display?

Try appending a random number to the RSS url:
    http://connect.garmin.com/feed/rss/activities?feedname=Garmin%20Connect%20-%20ortrails&owner=ortrails&ran=1234
It worked for me this way. Looks like Garmin is caching the feed by URL to reduce server load and who knows what the expiration is.

Nope, I thought it helped, but it was apparently just a happy coincidence. Makes no difference now.
