Connect email notifications FLOOD

Since just before 16:00 +01:00 today, I’ve been getting flooded by Garmin event update emails. Every 5 minutes a new “your event course has changed”. It’s an official event (Ahotu, for bmw Berlin marathon on 21 September). Every. 5. Minutes!!!

I have turned off event update notifications. Still getting spammed.

I deleted the event from my calendar. Still getting spammed.

Garmin folks please look into this. I’ve gone nuclear for now and disabled ALL Garmin communications (every one, means I’ll no longer receive my weekly and monthly updates, which I really want to keep receiving). I’m on the verge of blocking your email address entirely just to get my phone to stop buzzing all the time! Seriously this is insane.

  • Same issue here, deleted the event out of Connect without any result. Mails are still coming.

  • Finally got an update from Garmin Support (I sent an email last night):

"We are aware of the issue and I have added your details into an ongoing investigation to confirm what has happened and make sure it does not happen again"

So no ETA on a fix, but at least the issue has been acknowledged now and is being investigated.

  • So for emails you need to turn of ALL emails (GC Web, go to Account Settings and Messages - https://connect.garmin.com/modern/settings/messages). That'll stop the email (but it'll stop ALL garmin emails including any you actually want).

It won't stop the GC web and app notifications, but you can block the app from sending email notifications to your phone and thus watch (on iPhone, iPhone Settings -> Notifications -> Gmail -> Allow Notifications (unselect), or Settings -> Notifications -> Connect -> Allow Notifications (unselect))

On Android I think you do from inside the GC app (I haven't had Android in years so that's about as specific as I can be I'm afraid)

This will solve the watch buzzing issue, but not the underlying GC issue. Garmin sent a response to my email: they acknowledge there is an issue, involving this evening, and are currently investigating (no ETA on resolution)

  • that works out

    turn off all notifications

  • last 24 hours I am getting a notification every 5 minutes that The distance of Berlin Marathon 2025 was changed.

mod note: , joined to main thread.

  • We seriously need a button on GarminConnect (web AND app) for 'Clear ALL Notifications'

This one-by-one nonsense is tedious and a waste of time, and the alternative is to have the notifications in GC totally unusable because of the trash being dumped in every 5 minutes for the past 20+ hours

  • We seriously need a button on GarminConnect (web AND app) for 'Clear ALL Notifications'

Just click the buttons when they light up and then close. That will clear the new notification marker. No need to remove all notifications. If you try to remove all you are in for a long tedious journey.

  • Right but that's literally just clearing the little dot from the notifications icon, it doesn't solve the issue of my REAL notifications being lost in a flood of spam. The only way to see the genuine notifications is to try to keep on top of the rubbish that Garmin is sending every 5 minutes like clockwork. I'd rather lose ALL of my notifications though, including this trash, than have my notifications polluted with junk. Hence the clear-all button. Allows for a fresh start when (if!) Garmin ever resolves this

  • is this fixed?  I checked my email trash, and I don't see any new emails for two hours on this topic
