Connect email notifications FLOOD

Since just before 16:00 +01:00 today, I’ve been getting flooded by Garmin event update emails. Every 5 minutes a new “your event course has changed”. It’s an official event (Ahotu, for bmw Berlin marathon on 21 September). Every. 5. Minutes!!!

I have turned off event update notifications. Still getting spammed.

I deleted the event from my calendar. Still getting spammed.

Garmin folks please look into this. I’ve gone nuclear for now and disabled ALL Garmin communications (every one, means I’ll no longer receive my weekly and monthly updates, which I really want to keep receiving). I’m on the verge of blocking your email address entirely just to get my phone to stop buzzing all the time! Seriously this is insane.

Same Issue on my side, comes from the Same event.

More emails… guys, please look into this. This is ridiculous. 41 emails in 3 hours. The same email.

In my family, the BMW Marathon is also stored as an event in Connect. No spam e mail here.

No, the issue is that I’ve removed event update emails from my Garmin profile for ALL events and removed this event from my calendar entirely. I only mentioned the specific event and source in case it was a very narrow issue.

But Garmin is still sending updates. That’s 100% a Garmin issue. Sending event emails to people who are specifically not opted in for this kind of email is a Garmin issue. Sending emails for events that a user has removed from their calendar is a Garmin issue. Doesn’t matter what the source is doing, this is all going via Garmin and Garmin is sending emails it should not be sending.

Great, thank you! Hopefully that helps the Garmin folks debug their platform now that it’s not just a single user impacted. Seems to be specific to this event as I’ve got other Ahotu events in my calendar and no mail from them. Got 3rd party (unverified) too, no emails. Just this one starting a few hours ago.

Have you also disabled the event updates emails and still being spammed? Removed the event entirely and still being spammed?

Hopefully soon, it is a nightmare.

I try the Same like you, remove the Event and the favorite track aswell.

Nothing helps.

The message appear in the app under the bell, hundreds of it

After erase of the Event and the favorite track, i check it now and the favorite track is back at garmin connect

Oh no! I have those muted and never check there, but you’re right, that’s absolutely inundated too! That’s a full on DDOS attack on notifications now, they’re entirely unusable for as long as Garmin allows this issue to continue
