Connect email notifications FLOOD

Since just before 16:00 +01:00 today, I’ve been getting flooded by Garmin event update emails. Every 5 minutes a new “your event course has changed”. It’s an official event (Ahotu, for bmw Berlin marathon on 21 September). Every. 5. Minutes!!!

I have turned off event update notifications. Still getting spammed.

I deleted the event from my calendar. Still getting spammed.

Garmin folks please look into this. I’ve gone nuclear for now and disabled ALL Garmin communications (every one, means I’ll no longer receive my weekly and monthly updates, which I really want to keep receiving). I’m on the verge of blocking your email address entirely just to get my phone to stop buzzing all the time! Seriously this is insane.

Same Issue on my side, comes from the Same event.

Event is still not there, only the favorite track

Same here. I’ve removed it multiple times now too

Garmin needs a way to allow users to explicitly block specific events, in case someone actually does exploit this flaw to execute a malicious DDOS attack.

Problem is that might prevent you from getting important emails like your OTP for logging in. And won’t stop the in app notifications either

Youre right, but i can use my Mail account.

Knowing that you were wrong I still emailed Ahotu. They confirmed this morning in writing that they are NOT doing this. So yeah, it’s Garmin all the way who are spamming users

Hello,

I've added the Berlin Marathon event as one of my races recently. Today I started receiving multiple email saying that the 'Course of your marathon event was updated' asking me to sync my watch to see it.

I've already received 58 such emails and I don't know how to stop them. There is no unsubscribe link in the email and I'm not aware of any Connect communication settings either.

Do you have any suggestions what to do? My watch buzzes every few minutes. I'm blocking in watch notifications from Gmail but the email keep coming...
