menu disappears

Hello,

I use Safari on MacOs. Since a couple of days the main menu on the left in connect disappears, even when I click the menu open button 

I can open it, but when I chose an option the menu collapse again, it used to stay open. Also, since the same time the Lactate Threshold screen shows only the current data. The graph on 4w and 12w are blank.

  • how to raise this to Garmin as an error and issue to fix? The Garmin Support page doesn't even list Connect Web as an product to be picked there...

  • I filled in a form and got a response: “did you restart your computer?”

  • I'm on Chrome MacOS. The left-side menu bar on the Garmin Web app keeps collapsing when clicking on any option in it.

    I like having it open always by default, so it's very frustrating that it keeps closing automatically. 

    This isn't a UX pattern seen in any other menu bar on any other app - is this a bug? Design choice?

  • don't think this is design choice or even made deliberatly as the menue toogle button that normally alternate between open/closed menues is still present on the UI just without function

    my wild guess last Friday someone at Garmin tried to fix the black menue issue (another bug from recent weeks) thought he found the issue and accidentally created another, secondary issue the one one we are complaining now 

    Of course like in good old 90's software guru meditation vibes the guy fixed the issue on the fly, live and direct in the production environment , testing is for the weak...

  • not in my case, that's all that I get after typing connect or alternative garmin connect, web application - missing in action...

    that's of course a smart way to bring down the connect web error tickets to zero

  • "Garmin Connect" gets me there every time on every browser and every computer and phone. I suspect you are located in a different region than I. Where are you located?

    Regardless, if you select Garmin Connect App, you can still open a ticket and either chat call, or create a web form, which would essentially be the same as emailing support. The case will be transferred to the correct support group.

    Also, I just got done with a chat session with support and they are opening a case on my behalf. I directed them to this thread.

    Session started between Garmin Support and seilogramp...

    seilogramp:On the Garmin Connect web site. The left sidebar menu does not stay expanded even after selecting the right pointing arrow. After clicking on the desired item, it collapses back to the left side again.

    seilogramp: Yes, I normally use Edge, but also tested with Firefox and Chrome, also on another computer. Same results.
    Garmin Support: So when your cursor leaves the black area it should slide back in.
    Garmin Support: So if cursor stays in there it should stay open.
    seilogramp:This is not normal behavior. Typically, if you click the right pointing arrow, the menu expands and stays expanded, regardless of where your click. Now it compresses after clicking on any item.
    seilogramp: This started occurring 4 days ago.
    Garmin Support: Ok I was just testing on mine int 3 different browsers and that is what it is doing.
    Garmin Support: Ok what I can do is follow up with an email and get you a link to get us a video of what you are seeing but it should slide back if cursor is not in there.

    Garmin Support: So does it disappear completely or slide back in and you can still see the icons?
    seilogramp: After clicking the right arrow it stays expanded until I click on one of the items, then for a few seconds I see icons and black space where the labels for the menu items should be. Then it collapses to the left and can only see icons. Like I said, in the past after clicking the right arrow it would always stay expanded regardless of where I clicked after that.
    Garmin Support: Ok we did have a report a few months ago with it reporting blank for some users.
    seilogramp: I know about that issue. That seems similar but not exactly that. Back then the menu stayed expanded.
