Can I add steps to Connect manually?after the triangle of death yesterday I’m missing many steps. I was on 30 days of over 10000 steps and wanted to do the year! This is very frustrating

It always wonders me why you want to count steps if you ride bike?
Riding bike is not walking or running.
No it isn't equal, walking is not bike riding.
10K steps is about 8km walk, 1,5 hour walk.
ANd last but not least, if you had surgery and it is medical recommendation for you to do 10K step to recover…
Steps cannot be added manually. You can add an activity manually and that might count in your challenges, but for the daily streak, Nope not possible.
This topic comes up often. Here's a similar thread from a few days ago.
Incorrect steps count - Garmin Connect Web - Mobile Apps & Web - Garmin Forums
I think that is not what he asked. His question was, is it possible to manually add 'extra steps' to the 'daily steps count' so that he can complete the 10k for the day, as the blue triangle got rid of the steps.

You cannot adjust the step count manually, but the other thread describes a way how you can add missing steps to the stats of a certain day.
Yes, that is what I told the OP. Yeah I am also aware of the Incorrect steps count, posted by 'seilogramp', personally I feel Garmin should fix this inconsistency. I had this issue like twice in the past (although only twice, I feel like it should not happen at all).
Similar but different question. My FitBit would do an approximation of steps when I did a daily exercise bike ride. Can I get Garmin to shows steps during my bike ride? From above, sounds like no but I wanted to check. Thanks.

Only if you do not record the ride as a cycling activity, and attach the watch to your ankle.
Or
Wear your watch on wrist and recocrd a cycling activity with the watch, or an Edge device. Wear a cheapo Vivosmart 4 on your ankle. Both devices registered to your account and have TrueUp enabled. Keep your main watch as Primary. My household member has been doing it for years and is the main reason I DON'T join step challenges.,

Because I just had back surgery and the recommendation is take 10,000 steps per day in my recovery. When I ride my bike for an hour at 80 rpms, it should be the equivalent of taking at least 6,000 steps. It's certainly not a 1:1 ratio.
