from what i recollect, only Garmin (or Tacx) tracked activities count towards vo2 and all related metrics, as calc occurs on spot on device. so whoosh won't do this for you.
i did whoosh but tracked activity (indoor bike) on my watch, with connected trainer and hrm and this way i got proper matrics. since tacx is integrated with garmin, that's another working option and probably edge would work too for vo2 (don't own it so can't confirm). so in short, only native garmin solution can add vo2 to your profile.
(never tried zwift so sorry, this may have been another working thing)
VO₂max and Training Status are processed from compatible certified apps only. MyWhoosh is not one, but besides Tacx and Zwift, there are a few other 3rd party certified apps, like for example Rouvy, TrainerRoad, Concept 2, and perhaps others.
How did you manage to export .fit file? A gpx file is exported on all my devices
Even though the last entry here is old:
Once the training is done and uploaded, I open a browser and go to mywoosh.com -> Profile -> Activities
There you can download the .fit file for every activity.
I know this is kinda old... and I have not used MyWoosh but... have you tried downloading the fit file and using FIT File Tools and using the device changer? If you change the device to one of the edge units I believe it will work. Garmin should treat the workout as coming from a garmin device and it will contribute to your VO2, FTP, etc
