one session wont upload

hi guys

all my training sessions so far have uploaded no problems. then today's session transferred onto my computer with ANT agent but it said failed to upload to server due to "internal server error"

I've been to the "upload" part of the site and treid to upload it by clicking on "upload from list" but again keep getting failed due to internal server error

thought it might be a prob with ANT agent so created a dummy training session and that uploaded no probs!

any ideas?

This one makes sense to me, but I'm hoping you can tidy it up as well. There is one waypoint at the very beginning of this leg that doesn't belong, so the distance covered it way off. Could you kindly remove it? Thanks yet again again again...

I did remove the beginning lap, but I'm still not sure it's correct. Take a look.

  • Curious what versions of the forerunner firmware you guys have loaded and if you've tried hard-resetting your units since getting these errors?
  • latest firmware (don't have the watch handy to give you a number), no hard resets done.

Many thanks again April for doing what others claimed was impossible!

    April,
Was hoping to attach file that got "internal Server Error" message
Even with zipping today's 100-mile ride, I get the following message
"Exceeds your quota by 827.3 KB"
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks, Tom
  • I got exactly the same problem when I tried to upload my run from this morning. The workout transferred to the computer with no issues but then I got an error message saying that it failed to transfer to Garmin Connect due to a "server issue". I now seem to no longer be able to get the workout off my device and onto the server which is annoying.

Is the workout stuck on my computer (Macbook) and can it be retrieved and resent to the server somehow? If not, how do I get it off my watch again.

    I have a 310XT running V2.40 firmware.
  • Further interesting points which may be of value or may be a red herring:

    • This is the first time that I have had a failure and it corresponds with the first time I have followed a course during a workout. Could there be a connection?
    • I notice that a new version of the ANT driver has just become available and the release notes talks about a lot of fixes for 310XT devices.

    Thanks
    Andrew
  • My problem solved

Just managed to solve my problem. I upgraded to the latest ANT driver (not sure if this made a difference). Then I deleted all my old Activities except the one that would not transfer (reading the forums this seemed like a good idea). Then I created a dummy 2 second workout to get the transfer to happen again (I do wish you could trigger transfers manually from either the watch or Garmin Connect).

And voila ... my missing workout suddenly transferred across (along with the dummy one which I deleted). Not sure which of my changes managed to fix the problem but at least it is solved now (and hopefully won't happen again!!).
  • I do wish you could trigger transfers manually from either the watch or Garmin Connect

There is a way to manually trigger transfers from the watch without creating the dummy activity. In the history menu on the 310 you'll see the option of transfer all, turn that on and the watch will send all its history to the ANT agent. Not a great solution if you've got a lot of activities on the watch, but in your case where you just had the one remaining, this would have worked. It would be nice perhaps if there was a way to force send an individual activity though. Creating dummy activities isn't a very graceful solution (that's not directed at you, the creating dummy activities is a suggested troubleshooting method, I just don't like it).

latest firmware (don't have the watch handy to give you a number), no hard resets done.

Do you have multiple activities with the same bad time stamps? It's possible a hard-reset, though a pain to reset everything, could clear out any gremlins lurking in the data on your unit.
  • Same problem here....

One session won't upload. The Agent downloaded the session to the computer, but Garmin Connect fails to upload to the Garmin servers. It says that there is an "Internal Server Error".

Traying manually I had no better luck. The TCX file stops uploading with an error message saying that it's impossibile to upload the file; possibile problems: You're not connected; or servers have technical difficulties (not sure if the message is the same in English, as I've an Italian operating system and the Italian interface in Garmin Connect).

Here you are you find the TCX file. Hope somebody will be able to check and tell me what happened (my mistake? software bug?). I'm a bit worried as before yesterday I had no problems at all and that happened after updating the firmware and the ANT Agent...

I've a Mac, pairing with a Forerunner 405 (firmware 2.5) with HRM and FootPod. I sync sessions on Garmin Connect both with Safari and Firefox...

    PS
Hope everything was clear enough as you should have noticed, English is not my mother tongue...
  • Thank you NDURANCERIDER. :)
I managed to fix one of my uploads after following your explanations.
