one session wont upload

Former Member
Former Member
hi guys

all my training sessions so far have uploaded no problems. then today's session transferred onto my computer with ANT agent but it said failed to upload to server due to "internal server error"

I've been to the "upload" part of the site and treid to upload it by clicking on "upload from list" but again keep getting failed due to internal server error

thought it might be a prob with ANT agent so created a dummy training session and that uploaded no probs!

any ideas?

    If you can zip the tcx file, it should get small enough to attach here.

  • Hello,

    I have the same issue for 1 workout - I also have attached the TCX file from TC where the workout does display fine.

    Thanks in advance for any help you are able to provide.

    Doug, the file you posted contains multiple activities. Which one are you have problems with?

    Skifast, yours was the same issue.

    I've attached your corrected file.

  • Thanks April!

    Thank you, April. Interesting that when I had exactly the same problem in May, I received the following responses from Garmin tech support:

    "Thank you for contacting Garmin International. I will be happy to help you with this. Unfortunately, I don't have the
    capability to remove corrupt data from a file. There's no way to remove it.

    and the next day:

    "I'm happy to help you understand the limits of ths software. There's no way to go in and manipulate the data, like your requesting. I hope I've helped you understand this limitation."

    April, can you share your technical know-how with those that could benefit from it? Thanks again.
  • another one

    Hi again April;

    I dug up my old corrupt file from May, wonder if you could work your magic on this one as well? Thank you yet again!

    Also, I'm curious since I'm one of only 3 people on the forums with this problem...is my watch defective or are there a lot of people out there with the same problem? I'd like to know if I should get this repaired/replaced while it's still under warranty. Thanks.
  • Thank you for looking into this.

    The only activity that is missing on connect is the one from the morning of Sunday July 26.

    Many thanks,

    I've fixed this file as well.

    What I did was open up the file in TextPad. Notepad or any other text editor will work, too. Also an XML reader would work. I just like TextPad.

    First thing I did with this file was remove the Course and Workout information, and all the activities except the last one from May 16. This doesn't have to be done if the single activity is exported from Training Center instead of an entire week or folder.

    The very last track point in this activity looks like this:

    <Trackpoint>
    <Time>2013-02-19T20:09:08Z</Time>
    <AltitudeMeters>0.0000000</AltitudeMeters>
    <DistanceMeters>0.0000000</DistanceMeters>
    <HeartRateBpm xsi:type="HeartRateInBeatsPerMinute_t">
    <Value>64</Value>
    </HeartRateBpm>
    <Cadence>129</Cadence>
    <SensorState>Present</SensorState>
    </Trackpoint>

    As you can see, the datetime stamp for this track point is well in the future. A feat to be sure. :p

    I scrolled up the text looking for the first trackpoint that had an incorrect datetime stamp.

    I removed all trackpoints with an incorrect timestamp being careful to leave the </Track> and </Lap> ending tags so that the XML would still be formed well and be accepted by Garmin Connect.

    After performing the above, I was left with the attached file, which I successfully uploaded to GC before posting this message.

    I am not sure what is causing this problem. I have not seen it personally with my unit. I have compiled these examples and sent them to Garmin Support for them to investigate.

    You are certainly welcome to open a support ticket with Garmin, but I don't know what the cause is, so can't say for certain if a new watch will eliminate this issue for you.
