Can't upload to GC

I've tried and tried but for whatever reason I can't get my 305 to upload data into GC on a regular basis. I was able to do it just once at 3:00am but aside from that no luck. Anyone have any suggestions. Motionbase was great and I very seldom had issues. Why are we reinventing the wheel here?

    This is because you've reached the trackpoint limit (13,000) on your device, so the map data is being overwritten, leaving only summary data.

    Okay, that explains why I can't upload from my Forerunner, but not why I can't upload a file that I've exported from Training Center - or at least why some upload and some don't.

    Your activities will be migrated even after uploads are disabled. Can you post a link to the MB activities that are problematic?


    Sorry, I wasn't clear here. I have just a day to resolve this or I have to upload to MotionBase. There are about 40 activities and I can't post a link to MB because they are not in MB they are in my Training Center. I haven't uploaded them to MB and can't to Garmin Connect.

  • You could upload to mb and just wait for the migration. Also, can you attach one of your activities here? Depending on the size, you might have to zip the tcx file to get it under the 9.72 mb limit. Someone may be able to see if there is a problem with one of your files.

    Still trying to upload with no results. Added Garmin sites to my internet options (Vista)as per Garmin's instructions but still get no activities added. Any other suggestions?

    Windows or Mac? At what point in the upload process are you getting stopped? Any error messages? What version of Garmin Communicator are you using?

    I'm having the same problem on my Mac. I have a 305 Edge. Two weeks ago I plugged in and my garmin hard drive died, less then a month old. Returned it and got a new 305. I have registered, upgraded, read all the troubleshooting info, and now I'm here. Help! Please! John

    My neighbor just bought a 310xt (upgrading from the 305 forerunner) I asked him to try out the new GC upload process to see if he would have the same trouble as I'm having. He did it and was able to up load from his 310 but not from the 305. It seems as though a bunch of the problems are associated with the 305. Does anyone from Garmin have any answers?
  • I've had no problems uploading from the 50, 205, 305, and 310. I typically keep the history in my devices clean. After uploading to TC and GC I always delete all history and courses, so this might have something to do with my success.

    I'd really rather not go that route because there are now several workouts that I have not uploaded yet and getting rid of the history will delete them out right.

    Have you at least been able to get your history onto TC?

    I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "history" Most of my Motionbased account has transfered and I was able to do one upload at one point and have not had any luck since then. The last upload took place in mid July so all of the workouts since then are still in my 305 and on my Training Center. I appreciate you answering my posts. It's very frustrating because Motionbased worked so well most of the time. I sure hope Garmin can get this figured out.

    I misunderstood your post. Yes, all of my data is in Training Center. So that's good. I suppose I don't really need anything else but I'm a creture of habit and was accustomed to downloaded to Motionbased.
