Both Average Speed and Average Pace as columns on the Activities page

Where is the "average pace" column located at the GC activities page?

I can find the "average speed" column, but no "average pace" column as is shown on both Motion Based, and Training Center.

Currently, it appears whoever created the "average speed" column is also attempting to convince us that the average pace the same thing as an average speed by combining the two items into one column? What am I missing? They are two different items completely, but there appears to be no average pace column anywhere on the activities page.

What's up with that? How do you show both "average speed" and "average pace" correctly on the activities page?

I haven't been able to find avg pace for reporting either. For my running acitvities, 'pace' is mislabeled as 'speed' throughout many of the screens. I find it very confusing and frustrating. Garmin Connect needs to include both and make sure that they are properly labeled.

If it is a running activity the actual data will be expressed in terms of time/distance (pace), but with the same column heading. You can't have 2 columns with 1 showing pace and one showing speed. There is a discussion on this right now in the Feature Requests section.

Edit: As Steve stated, you can have both, but not in the same cell.

Are you not seeing the Average Speed/Pace column correctly or do not see how pace and speed are shown in the same column.

In my activities listing you can see how both pace and speed are shown based on the activity type. (see attached)

Average Speed and Pace columns at GC? Where are they both?

Big difference between "average speed" and "average pace".

Obviously, average speed represents "miles per hour", and average pace represents "minutes per mile".

Here's what I'm stating guys. Both at the old Motion Based, and at the current version of Training Center, two columns exist for "whatever" activity you may upload.

It's simple.....One column for Average Speed, and One column for Average Pace.

What's so hard about GC displaying that info in two columns. If it can be displayed in Training Center and at Motion Based that way, GC should therefore be able to do it also. Am I correct or not?

I'm uploading both my running activities, and my mountain biking activities from my Forerunner, and at GC's activities page, there is no "average pace" column. Only an average speed that is shown.

Again, what am I missing that the GC acitivities page is not showing an "average speed" column, and, an average "pace column"

This isn't rocket science folks, let's not make it more complicated than it is.

Am I missing something? Please point it out for us dumb folks if there is an average pace column and I simply can't find it, along with the average speed

    Thanks.
  • Again, what am I missing that the GC acitivities page is not showing an "average speed" column, and, an average "pace column".

There is no separate column for pace and a separate column for speed. They are combined into one.

If your running activities are measured in pace, then the pace will be used in the field. If your cycling activities are measured in speed, then speed will be used in the field.

Click on the little triangle next to each field tite to see the columns that are currently available for you to use.
  • One column for Average Speed, and One column for Average Pace.

Apparently the GC developers did not take into account the fact that some users, such as yourself, would want to view both speed and pace for the same activity. Not sure why they decided to throw both into the same column and just force the data based on the activity type.

Again, what am I missing that the GC acitivities page is not showing an "average speed" column, and, an average "pace column"

I guess you're missing having both columns.;) You need to post this as a feature request.

You've missed my point once again.

I want to know both, average speed and average pace. Exactly as it is currently displayed in Motion Based, and Training Center alike. Again, this isn't rocket science.

It's not as if there is a lack of space for columns at the GC activities page, and isn't the switch to GC supposed to be an enhancement over the previous, not a reduction of available data?

If I run a 10k or a marathon, or I'm riding loops at a particular mountain bike course. I want to know my average speed, and my average pace. As most people do.

What is so complicated about that? Is it too complicated for the big guys at "GC" to show it that way, exactly as it is shown at TC and MB?

How difficult or technologically troubling would it be to replicate what TC and MB display?
  • You've missed my point once again

I don't think I have. You want both speed and pace columns displayed. No? This is currently not a possibility with GC. If you want it changed so that you have both columns then this has to be changed in a future update to GC.
  • Again, sounds like a feature you want is not currently available. This is not the forum to vent frustration. Go to Garmin Connect Help and at the bottom, there's an email form button. http://connect.garmin.com/help

You will have a better chance having your issue tracked and answered.

If both Training Center, and Motion Based show "average speed", and "average pace" columns, does anyone think it would have been asking too much of the folks at GC to show the same type of data at the GC activities page?

How much more time or money would it have taken the techies to set up an "average pace" column when they were creating the GC website, that is so the new GC website replicated the same type of data currently shown at MB and TC?

Or maybe nobody was doing any forward thinking? I mean it's not like they were under any kind of a tight website creation and activation schedule, we all know that.

So really, how much more would it have taken to have included an "average pace" column?
