Garmin Cycling Coach no rest days scheduled after 15 days in row with workout

Hi, so for the context, I'm experimenting the recent Garmin Cycling Coach and selected "Improve my fitness" as goal for my plan which is set up to end on the 31/12/2024. I set my availability to do workout every single day, and set availability for long workout during the weekend.

So far so good, it's mostly base training with 1 to 2 interval workouts a week (threshold, sprint, or anaerobic). It's been 15 days now since I started and I didn't have a single rest day. I've had a recovery ride of 30 mins per week but apart from that, workout every day. The schedule for the next 6 days also have workouts planned and no rest day at the horizon.

Are you experiencing the same thing? Is this expected?

Honestly, I'm feeling good so far so it doesn't bother me, but even on a 10-12h plans I did in the past, there was at least a rest day per week.

  • I've similarly signed up for a Half Marathon plan and I'm seeing the same daily runs scheduled. I wonder if their intention is for people to just take a rest day, when they feel like, by deleting or not doing certain workouts, but that feels wrong. Or maybe this is a bug in the planning software.

  • Fwiw I’m in same boat with running. So I don’t think it’s a big or wrinkle unique to your plan. I would like some days off here and there myself.
