No longer able to have two training plans simultaneously? cycling & running?

Did something recently change?  I used to have two training plans running simultaneously, cycling 3 days + running 3 days.  I'm trying to start up a new plan and it's only allowing me one?  I have to quit cycling to add the running and vice versa.  I can't be the only multisport athlete...

  • I just tried it, and have set up two plans without any error.

Which type of plans do you use? Adaptive Coach plans, Self-Guided plans, or an adaptive race-based plan (without any coach)? My watch does not support the latest (it requires the Race Widget), and it is possible that that one is not compatible with the other ones. I cannot test it.

  • I've historically used the Galloway 10k & half-marathon plans + the mountain bike cycling plan.  This error is new since the last few weeks "quit current plan? you have an active training plan.  You'll need to quit your current one before setting up a new one"  I'm snot sure what type of plan it is, other than the Garmin Coach Plans.  This is through Garmin Connect either app or online both are giving me this error now.

  • I created both plans today, just to test it for you, with no problem at all. I had no active plan previously. I did it in GC Web.

  •  I appreciate you checking it out on your end.  It looks like I'm not the only one, it might be related to the devices I use, fenix 7 and edge 1040, but this is new behavior.  Doing the same thing I've been doing for several years and it's no longer allowing me to sign up for two plans simultaneously

  • I already asked, but you did not answer - which plans exactly are you trying to start, and in which order? I can try the same combination too.

  • not sure what you are asking I guess:

    1. more / training plans / garmin coach plans / train for an event / running / half marathon / goal to finish / coach jeff plan / select defaults

    2. more / training plans / garmin coach plans / train for an event / cycling / mountain biking, etc..   defaults

This is what I've been doing for years and it's asking me to quit any active plan now.  In the forums there are several others I've seeing now with the same issue

  • Try a different plan than "train for an event", just to see whether at least that works

  • no change, "quit current plan?" as soon as I select "find a plan"

  • And the plan that is active is a plan for an event or not?

  • I think the adaptive plans of the type "Train for an Event" indeed cannot be used concurrently with another plan. And it makes sense. I suggest choosing a Triathlon plan and a Triathlon event, in order to get workouts for both sports.
