Workout .fit file not importing (copied from watch)

Hi there,

I deleted a workout file from Garmin Connect via the web interface which I didn't mean to do.

I have a copy of it on my Garmin SQ watch and am trying to upload it back to the Garmin Connect website (so that I can edit it rather than having to recreate it).

- I copy it from the watch using Windows (found it in: PRIMARY \ GARMIN \ Workouts \)
- I upload it via the Garmin Connect web interface (into the Workouts Activity area)
- Met with and error:

One of your files was not accepted by the system. Please contact Support for assistance.

Any help appreciated.

Importing only works with activities or courses. Workouts are only a one-way sync, from Garmin Connect to the Garmin device. It might be more trouble than it's worth, but if you can use a fit to jason converter such as fit2JSON, then install the chrome browser extension Share your Garmin Connect workout. Then you might be able to import the json file into your Garmin Connect workouts.

Thanks very much for the reply. You're right, it's probably going to be quicker to recreate the workout manually. It's a shame you can't import them.

I doubt it, as the JSON file that's created by fit2JSON is almost certainly not going to be compatible with the JSON created/accepted by that browser extension (the structure of the data within each file is highly unlikely to be the same.)

I recommend suggesting it to Garmin at Share Ideas | Garmin
