REVERSION TO PRIOR GARMIN CONNECT HOME PAGE

Dear Garmin CEO and Connect Team:

The only reason Garmin exists and you have a job is to serve your customers by providing us with the products and services we want. The response to the rollout of your new Connect Home Page clearly suggests that your customer base is very unhappy with the layout. It reminds me of the introduction of Coca Cola's New Coke, a product nobody asked for.

At a minimum you should enable us to revert to the prior layout and possible eliminate the new layout. The new side-by-side layout and need to click See All to see my data, truely adds nothing.

Please reply to your customers if you will revert to the prior layout, so that we, in turn, can decide if we need to switch to one of your competitors' platforms.

Thank you in advance for your immediate attention and response.

  • Technically we already pay for the app when we purchase the device so it isn't really free, but do I hope they don't make it subscription based - of course. But I would pay for a subscription to Connect if it meant better software all around.

I never said Connect was free, I said Garmin users typically expect to pay once and get everything, as opposed to the newer business model where ppl are accustomed to subscribing to get premium features (see: Stryd.) That's probably why some ppl still run with a Forerunner 235 from 2015. It still does the job and it retains all of its functionality that was present at purchase time (except for battery life), without any ongoing fees.

Again, if “premium” Connect features became subscription-based, but the base Connect functionality remained subscription-free (like syncing your watch and changing settings), I bet a lot of runners wouldn't notice since many of them primarily use Strava.

Personally I wouldn't pay for a subscription to Connect and I wouldn't expect software quality to improve if it went to a subscription model. What, you seriously think that quality improves when you give a company more money? Reminds me of a comment somebody (facetiously) made about having to buy a MARQ (~$2000 USD) to get software without bugs. I’m sure it was facetious because nobody expects there to be any correlation between quality and price. (I mean low price is often an indicator of low quality, but high price is not always an indicator of high quality.)

This might be why Garmin has software issues, too many apps and too many different models of watches.

Yeah since 2015-ish they've released about 200 variants of watches (that’s just the variants that are significant to Connect IQ, and it doesn’t include different colors or certain variants like Tactix, which is lumped in with the corresponding Fenix model). Their approach to market segmentation is also very old school.

  • I agree. The new homepage is awful.  Why mess with something that was good already and make it worse. I can’t see all the info I used to be able to see now. It’s totally demotivating.  Please give us the option to switch back.

  • I'm hating the new homepage. I also want the old homepage as an option

  • Can i suggest all who find the new interface pathetic,

Go to the playstore and rate the app 1 STAR.

    This might get Garmins attention.

It's disrespectful,  the lack of response from Garmin.

  • Excellent idea, I have just added my comments to  playstore

  • The new Home page looks and feels outdated and is utterly useless

The "old" Dashboards were the main reason for me to user Garmin Connect Web. No reason for me to continue using Garmin products when they need to be replaced unless they bring back alle the customisable widgets to Garmin Connect Web.

  • Please, let us use the classic version of the web dashboard! Not this terrible downgrade with less functions and possibilities! For example, let me continue to track my goals on the dashboard, or du you want me to leave??

  • Everyone please contact Garmin and rate the app.

  • Honestly think I’m going to get a coros next. This homepage is made for people who don’t do sport and I find it unusable. I have tried to get used to it and manipulate it but I just can’t get on with it. And all that effort and signing yourself up to challenges is still a pain in the behind!!!

  • Completely agree! The “new” Garmin home page set up is Horrendous!!!
I like many other Garmin customers, am planning my next purchase to be another brand. I cannot customise my settings to access or track my progress as previously enjoyed.

The only thing my Garmin is good for now is counting my steps… UGH Persevere..

Overwhelmingly, your customer base is rejecting this ridiculous “upgrade”. This should not be forced on us.
