  • Was it the Russians who did this?

  • It is unnecessary, impractical, laborious and ugly

  • This update is impractical, laborious and ugly.

The 2017 Garmin Connect team did a great job with the UI. Garmin Connect was the leading reason why I went with this brand.

Going forward my plan is to primary use 3rd party UI to review and analyze my data. Not sure if I'm allowed to post a link here.

Since I am not tied to GConnect,  my loyalty to the brand will decay. I dont have a reason to stay on Garmin's ecosystem of devices. I currently have Fenix 7, HRM Pro, Edge 830, Varia 515. My future devices will most likely be a mixed bag of hardware.

Also, thank god I am on Android so I can manually set the old version and not update.

Garmin Team - I would love to hear your feedback on my thought process

  • I posted the link for quantified self... so please post your alternative.. will help others and thats what this forums is also about...

  • The is the worst update I've seen for Garmin I think ever.

  • Was this supposed to be an improvement? To me it looks like gimping a useful feature (dashboard that could display a lot of data; still not all data...) into a generic good-for-nothing crap, so they have excuse to stop supporting it as it will no longer be used.

Can we get option to revert to old one please?

  • It is ENTIRELY necessary.  It changes the logical data model, to allow for future expansion. The old design was putting too many fields on the home screen, which is a design failure according to all professional standards. Once you get past 8-12 data items, the user fails to absorb the information well and in some cases that is as low as 6 with complex itens.

  • The data is still there. You simply need to spend 5 minutes learning how to access it better than you used to.

  • It takes WAY many more swipes or strokes to find it. Also, less data available in one space because there is so much open space on the pages. It is so inefficient.

  • You are in the vast minority. Good for you, but most (90%+) don't like it.
