Garmin Connect web dashboard- information is now LESS accessible than before

The new update is extremely frustrating. The tiles are smaller and harder to read. The "at a glance" states you can pick 8 things to display, but only 4 show on the home page, despite there being space for more, but just sits blank. The very definition is "glance", as in easy to see with a single look, but that is the opposite of what is happening. The tiling is imbalanced, there is no ability to arrange in an order that makes the info accessible to me. In order to see anything properly I have to navigate to each thing separately- which is really poor function for something that was supposed to be new and improved and make our data more accessible.

I am wondering if the designers see this feedback and if Garmin will actually respond to it. This has been discussed during their beta testing stage and clearly they did not listen. How incredibly disappointing.

Haha..typical Garmin, not giving a rats a$$ about their customers, just forcing what THEY want on people!! See the other post (which they of course locked so they don't get any honest feedback" it states "This update had been in a public beta since January and we have made many updates and changes based on the public feedback we received.". That is bollocks! Go look on Redit, beta users gave feedback that has been completely ignored. I had my main Garmin account blocked from here because I dared to critisize Garmin so they will probably block this one too. Off to peruse the "Coros" site, after about 20 years with Garmin it's time for a change.

  • Hate it. I miss my custom views. I had it just how I liked it and I enjoyed checking my stats through the day. Now it's a hassle.

  • Same same!  Sadly, I just upgraded my Garmin watch.  Stupidly I didn't check what the beta was proposing, mistakenly thinking, "ahhh it can't be that bad..."  Clearly I was WRONG, it's worse than "that bad".

Yeah you never think a company can butcher something this badly do you!!

  • I'm a cyclist, and this doesn't show stuff that I want, unlike the old dashboards did

  • Newlayout simply sucks : there is nothing to see on the dasboard anymore, it is right out empty, void and meaningless

Where is the last exercise widget ? Where is the statistics ?

The widgets for the goals you set, eg. I want to cycle 1000 km this month, showing how much you did, had to do, percentages ... don't even exist anymore

If you are say a runner ( many of us are ) do you really give a *** about how many steps you took ?

BRING BACK THE OLD DASBOARD ( at least for those who choose to)  ! ! ! ! !

Now I have to click though a gzillion of menus, to find half the information, always with the same bloody default settings I do not want time and time again

  • I kinda like the new look but I can't understand why the "web" version does not really do "web stuff" aka real links.. middle clicking on those fake JS-links does basically not work at all, for some things ctrl-right-click does work but not everything (e.g. 'in focus steps' takes me to https://connect.garmin.com/modernsteps which is not correct).  Pretty please, bring back real LINKS.  Those were super useful before, easy to use, quick to get to more information and could be used as shortcuts.

The new web interface shows lots of empty space E.g. Yesterday and Last-7-Days has lots of empty space. Also with everything enabled (in focus, glances, training, challenges) I see only 3 challanges and the rest of the page below is empty.

I guess those problems come from the mobile version and web interface now showing the same information.  It might be good for both the share the same technique and code but why have both  try to show identical things?!?  I used to use the old web interface to look at and analyze my data, i used the mobile to just get a glance and be uptodate.  Now i don't have either (mobile version is too cumbersome to use, see other threads) and the web version does not show enough information and is cumbersome in other ways.

Guess the new interface will not go away so please make the web version have its own set of settings, make everything real links again and do away with all those limits on things to show.  We use big screens to look at the web version so give us all the data we want!

  • "why have both  try to show identical things?!?"   makes me wonder if they intend to drop the web interface... Sunnto did this which killed off older devices that used it. And basically ruined the usability for many with Suunto devices(I was one off them that got hit hard by the change)    This whole update reminds me of that clusterf""""

  • i bet they don't know what middle click is

perhaps developers never have seen pc at all!

  • I just logged on for the first time to say how bad this update is. Why make things worse? I don't get it. Come on Garmin, roll back please.
