Looks like garmin pairing is down too. I’ve never had sustained issues with pairing but now after unpairing my watch and garmin connect, garmin connect is no longer pairing to my phone even though it shows as “paired” on my phone. Multiple problems for the garmin engineering team to fix tomorrow!

That's normal. In order to pair your watch with Garmin Connect on the phone, you have to first remove the watch from the list of paired devices on the phone. That was always the case, and has absolutely no relation to the issue with Strava, wich was more likely a problem on Strava's side anyway, since the API was working for other services using the very same API.
Same here - no amount of disconnecting accounts and reconnecting etc is working to make my activities from yesterday in garmin connect sync to strava.
I wonder if somehow the activities recorded during a specific time frame yesterday have some corrupted metadata etc
It was a temporary issue with Strava. Next time just check online for Strava outage (this was reported by many users yesterday). In any case, if the syncing problem is between Strava and Garmin (i.e. your device has synced with Garmin Connect), you can rule out any problems with your device 100%
It is Garmin Connect that tells Strava that there are activies that can be imported. Everything is server side.
I only logged one activity yesterday and it was in the morning before any issues and it worked. Today I've logged two activities one in the morning and one at lunch time and both synced to Strava. So, there isn't any general issue.
I would remove the connection between Connect and Strava and set it up again. Do everything on the web. Don't do it in the apps.
