Added Race but got no Training Schedule

I just added a race/event to Connect Web and synchronized my Epix (Gen 2) Pro with it. The event is showing in the Race widget but I get no suggested training/workouts or training schedule, not in web app, android App or on the watch, like shown in (https://forums.garmin.com/apps-software/mobile-apps-web/f/garmin-connect-web/335049/garmin-coach-training-plans-made-redundant ):

When I go to Connect Web app I can add the event and set a goal for it. But there is no option to enter which days in the week I want to run, which day for the long run and the "Garmin Coach" widget is empty.

Do I need to give it a day to "calculate" or do I need to add something somewhere or did I do something wrong?

  • Nobody? Should I post this under other subforum? Until now Garmin support has been unable to help me. I've done several workouts, still not getting any daily suggestions on the watch or Android app or browser app... I still don't have any option to enter #of running days, which day I want to do the long run etc...

  • Garmin Coach widget is for Garmin Coach workouts. If I understand well, you are trying to use the Daily Suggested Workouts instead. In that case you have to enable them in the settings of the respective activity profile. You can then see the few next suggested workouts in the activity menu » Training » Workouts. If all the next days show "Resting Day", then change the Long Run to another day (you can set it back to the original day later again). That should regenerate the DSW.

  • You are right, it is the Race Widget on the watch/app which stays empty. I'll have a look at how to enable Daily Suggested Workouts for the activity profile as that might be the solution I need (I don't know what the default setting is but I suppose it might be disabled). Thanks for responding!

  • Sorry, I do not have the Race Widget (and the related functionality) on my watch, so cannot help with that. You may be perhaps better advised on the Epix 2 forum.

  • I think I found (part) of the solution. I pressed start to get the activity selection, selected run and then with the up button got into training - workouts and to the "workout library - all workouts". There I could select "Daily suggestions" with the event name underneath it. Entering that I saw the suggestions for this week and also at the bottom settings where  I could set the day for the long workout and target type etc. Just above settings there's a plan overview explaining the different phases. Now's hoping that when I do one of those daily suggestions workouts, they'll start popping up every morning (which I hope).

    Thanks for taking the time to respond and pointing me into what seems to be the right direction. I'll leave the topic here for others to discover and will add to it when I noticed it does work as intended.
