I ride at a high intensity earlier today. On my Daily Summary the HR for that period is around 80bpm. That's because my Epix Pro watch is incredibly bad at detecting my heart rate.
However, during the ride, I was wearing a chest strap (Tickr) connected to my Edge 830. The average heart rate for the activity was around 150bpm, peaking at 180.
What I don't understand is why doesn't the obviously much higher and accurate HR from the Edge override the inaccurate one from the watch; and also why isn't the Edge activity used to calculate "Intensity minutes"?
My summary says I've scored 10 intensity minutes today, but the activity was 30 minutes in Zone 5, plus 17 in Zone 4. I reckon that's a lot more than 10 intensity points.
So is there a way to get Garmin Connect to prioritise HR from a chest strap/activity over the dodgy optical sensor in the watch?
(As an aside, the watch is tight enough on my wrist, and my Whoop on the other wrist picks up HR much better. My old Fenix 6 Pro was more accurate than the Epix Pro, which is very disappointing.)
