Adjusting lapdistance (and the laptime, and the rest) after an activity

First of all, I'm not talking about a corrupted/damaged file.

During races and enduranceruns my autolap is set on 1 km.  But sometimes I accidently press lap or stop on my watch.  Then I get for example at a certain moment a lap of 500m followed by laps of 1 km.  But those laps of 1 km don't start after excatly X km but after X,5 km.  I would like to see every km start after an exact rounded number of km.  In my excel-file where I keep my training I solved this partially.  But this assumes a constant pace and HR for every lap.  For example if I ran a km in 5' after I accidently pressed lap excel will add2'30" to my 500m lap.  But it might bepossible that I in reality ran the first 500m in 3'.  Is there a tool to fix this?

  • I just started using runalyze so that's why I only did a manual upload.  But now I'm automatically syncing my activities.  Now I do see the 10th of seconds.  But only in the inital screen.  If I click on lapdetails the laps are only to the second.  If I click on calculated laps (not in the details) the 10th of second also disappears.

Yeah, that's what I figured, but as I mentioned, you can always export the original FIT file using Export Original in Garmin Connect, and you'll get the same results as automatic sync. If I were doing any kind of export of Connect activities to another service, I would always prefer the FIT file.

Yeah, I noticed that too. It's either a bug or an intentional limitation. You could contact the runalyze team and see what they think.

Another weird limitation is that you can see lap distances with greater precision than even Garmin Connect, but only if you open the activity editor.

  • They already answered the question without me asking it.  One of them answered : "Devices record only every second a data point."  And a second person anwered : "GPX/TCX files usually store all times in full seconds. And calculated laps will always be in full seconds, as sample rate is >= 1s."  Anyway it's already a lot better then my calculations in excel.

  • Yes, but it's still an inconsistency that the lap details view doesn't show 10ths of seconds even though the lap summary view does, when viewing the original laps from the device.
