Hi everyone,

Do you know how to turn off "permanent two-step verification"... I call Garmin for help but they didn't succeed ..

I turn on two step verification 2 days ago but i can't use the  RunGap app.

Yes there is already a closed subject but I still have the problem!

Garmin !!!  Don’t close the conversation when the work is not done !

Permanent two-step verification - Garmin Connect Web - Mobile Apps & Web - Garmin Forums

  • I think I’m going to just keep using my Fenix Pro as a watch, but gonna mostly ignore all analysis and go by Training Peaks instead.  If Garmin won’t play nice with other apps to sync workouts from other devices and treadmills and stuff then their data just won’t be useful. Next watch will likely be Coros.

  • With reluctance and a bit of sadness, I too am likely to switch to Coros. It will almost certainly be inferior to my EPIX and my GC experience. I don't blame Garmin for obeying the laws w.r.t. ECG data, but I fault them for the engineering that produced the current 'acknowledgement' processing that was apparently unclear to many, and for failing to engineer means for deleting the ECG data to make the MFA election reversible.

  • SyncMyWorkout has MFA compatibility now

  • I hope Garmin doesn't "enhance" the software for my "older" EPIX Gen2 watch to capture ECG [or any other legally-overseen medical] data and force me to accept the update. I'm good with what it does now, thanks.   Alternately, if such an enhancement is made, include an option on the watch that defaults to disabling the collection of that data and must be explicitly enabled.

  • How can they do that? Do you have to give them access to your mails, so they can retrieve the code?

  • I think you may be thinking about it backwards.  MFA implementations want you to tell them a unique way (email address or phone number) where they can send you (and only and exactly you) something that you can then parrot back to them as the means for you to prove that its you accessing your account.  Framed back as you've framed your question, they need your email address so they can send, not access to your email content so they can  read.
